Peru- police certificates and birth certificate question

My boyfriend is not from Lima (from Piura) and we're a little confused on whether or not he needs to go to Lima to get the some of the certificates. Is it true that the certificado judicial (at the INPE) needs to be done in Lima? And that the birth certificate needs to be certified by the RENIEC in Lima, and not in his hometown? As far as I can tell, the certificado antecedentes penales y certificado de la policia can be done in his hometown. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the birth certificate certified by RENIEC in Lima?

kathe just got her birth certificate done by reniac and it is a 2 day process. I am not sure if you can mail it to them and have them send it back or not.

Embassy will accept the local police certificates, BUT you still need to get the National Certificates in LIMA, because they cover the whole country not just the local city that you live. And the Embassy wants a certificate that covers the whole country.

In accordance with Georgia law, "The Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act," I am required to display the following in any and all languages that I may give immigration related advise:

'I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW AND MAY NOT GIVE LEGAL ADVICE OR ACCEPT FEES FOR LEGAL ADVICE.'

"NO SOY ABOGADO LICENCIADO PRACTICAR LEY Y NO PUEDO DOY ASESORAMIENTO JURÍDICO O ACEPTO LOS HONORARIOS PARA El ASESORAMIENTO JURÍDICO."

which ones? or all three need to be done in lima? argh, this is confusing.

kathe just got her birth certificate done by reniac and it is a 2 day process. I am not sure if you can mail it to them and have them send it back or not.
does this have to be done in lima? or can we do it in the reniac in his hometown?

My wife got her Birth Certificate in the town she was born in.

The police certicates you will get in Lima. The location of which is on the paperwork the Embassy sends you.
