I think I get a little jealous. Not a lot though. But when people complain they can't see their boyfriend/girlfriend for a couple days and he/she only lives 20 miles away? I'm sorry but that's quite annoying. In fact I get kind of annoyed when people complain at all about distance when the couple lives within the same country. I guess because it's much easier for them to be able to move and be together, then have to go through this immigration process. And I do feel a little sad when I see loving moments of couples on TV shows or movies, it makes me think of my fiance so much, and how much I miss him.

But, I do think it makes you appreciate your relationship more and really tests your love and bond with that person. I feel if your relationship can make it through the distance and this immigration process, your love is really strong. Most people can't handle long distance relationships at all. At least that's what a lot of people tell me.

Last time I saw my love was in March, but we will be together next month, and from then on, forever... I can't wait. It's finally coming true.

The wait is very hard I know, we have been through this long distance relationship for over 5 years. The visits were always so wonderful, but the good byes at the airport were tearing my heart out. Being apart was always getting harder. But we made it through it, we aren't together yet, but the K-1 process is almost over for us. (All that's left is for him to fly here) It will happen eventually for all of you too, and it will worth it.

Hey.

Yea, I feel the same kind of feelings.. I often feel envious and wish I could regularly do things with my OH.. I travel a lot, almost every week.. Spending time in hotels, you often see families together and it's little dificult...

But the process will move rather quickly once you have your NOA2, so be prepared..

This process isn't easy :(

but it gets us our loves and when I saw David at the airport at his entry point, I burst into tears of happiness. It's worth it--to see him come here and be with me for the rest of our lives :star:

best of luck to those waiting for NOA2s!

I have the same feeling which I dont want to call it jealousy  I feel it when read/hear stories about couples whose entire process ended in just few months. I feel it when see couples can go back and forth and meet each other to ease the pain, we cannot plan to meet due to our limitations. When I receive wedding party's invitation, I know that none of my family members can attend and there will be just 2-3 friends.

It is so hard to deal with. But I have learned that everything in our lives happen because of a reason.

The absolute worst of it though is when you've just left each other at the airport. Airports are really hard places for me now. They either represent the absolute gut wrenching heartbreak of saying goodbye or the amazing ecstatically happy feeling of seeing my fiance for the first time in however many days I had to wait between visits.

I know how you feel about that scene at the airport when it's time to leave. Your loved one can only go so far before 'that time' comes. Some airports 'so far' and 'that time' can come just inside the entrance to the international terminal (something I have experienced personally). Whereas other airports, 'that time' comes at the security checkpoint.

I cant understand why anyone would be jealous. We each have our unique situation. It doesnt make any sense to get jealous.

I am not talking spiteful jealousy, just that pang of being envious of couples that get to be together and have no waiting of being apart. I would never let jealousy be an issue, its just that 10 minutes of that over-whelming feeling of how lucky they are when you see such happy couples. Jealousy is a natural human feeling, whether your happy for someone or not, its not a feeling you cant make any sense of. It just happens.

Aren't the airport runs the worst ever!! That one journey where you are so excited to go pick up your loved one and then that horrible sinking heart feeling when you have to drop them off

Just keep thinking that this will all be worth it!

Been there done that...

I was on a project in South America.. Several times, I flew my fiance down to where I was working.. Oooh man, were we excited to see each other those times as she came out of the airport, but then was that day when we had to say goodbye at the airport.. I still have a photo that someone took of us one of those times, and it's clear in that photo of how sad we both were..

I can certianly Identify with those feelings..

Soon though, very very soon, this "waiting" will be behind us...

I think I get the most envious or jealous when I see couples who are constantly fighting and talking about splitting up. On-again/off-again couples who just can't make up their minds whether they love each other or not.

It's so easy for people to be together when they live near each other, and I just want to shake them and say, "WAKE UP!!! Be GRATEFUL for what you have!!" There are so many of us out here who would give anything to be together, but we have to wait through months of red tape and prove that our relationship is real to some stuffed-shirt behind a desk because THEY have the golden tickets!

Meanwhile, men and women over here can hook up and break up for no apparent reason and have NOTHING to prove to the world. They can get married and divorced in the time it takes some of us to get our fiance's over here.

I know that according to my timeline it's only been a few short months, so I'm one of those you'd say, "What are YOU jealous about, it's not been that long for you" but I've spent one week with my husband-to-be in the past year. ONE WEEK. In a lifetime that's nothing, but when you consider that we've been together for 2 years and only spent 7 weeks together out of that time, it's nowhere near enough. I don't think it matters how long your paperwork takes. Being apart sucks. Plain and simple. :(

I hear that - everything is running at an emotional all time high! Everything makes you extra sensitive to stupid things that wouldnt ever bother u usually! I hate having to put my life on hold while waiting for some piece of paper to say our relationship is 'real'. Maybe some of the staff should try this waiting and see how well they fair!!

I totally agree about the jealousy - not in a nasty spiteful way wanting someone else to be unhappy, but wanting to be as happy as them and for me to be with MY husband.

I hate the airport runs too....the incredible happiness of stepping through Arrivals and seeing your loved one waiting for you (or vice versa) and the awful gut-wrenching pain of having to leave them and start the long flight home on your own, trying to cram a few more hugs and kisses in before you board ....I am just so sick of crying at airports...

Also, me and my husband are older than most people on here, I am 48 and he is 57, so I feel our time is even more precious in a way because we probably dont have decades in front of us. Ever single day apart is a day we will never get back, and we have waited so long to find the love of our lives, now we cant be together until God knows when. I know that the process may only take a few months more, but that seems ENDLESS when it is stretching in front of you. We met online in 2007 so have already spent 3 and half years apart except for visits.

I get really bad nightmares too, I know its stress, but I honestly cant imagine that we will EVER be together, it seems like being apart and planning for the future is all we will ever have, its become such a way of life. Oh gosh I'm going to tear up in a minute! We filed I-130 in May, havent heard a thing since then, dont know when it will get approved and how long it will take when it does, because all the posts on here seem to indicate that London takes a while as well.

I'm fed up..... :(

Sometimes it feels like being punished for trying to do things legally. So many of us locked in the waiting game because we are doing what's right. Hang in there.

I know your would think as we are trying to do things legally and it feels like we are the ones being punished. No wander some people think sod this, get married under the VWP and adjust status there. Even though they amy have heaps of problems when filing, at leats they get to stay with there loved ones!!
