2.Aww. Did you just happen to want to go to Six Flags that day? Poor baby.

I wonder.... if a company sets up a Christmas celebration and sells all their tickets to the Baptist church, do you think that is discrimination?

Get a grip! Every religion there is has their own celebrations someday at someplace. So what if the Muslims have theirs at Six Flags this year. That doesn't make for a terrorist party. 1.Your comment about what is America coming to and is this supporting terror is very offensive and narrow-minded.

And I am not Muslim myself but a few bad apples seem to have soured you for the whole bunch. There are millions of Muslims in this world and comparatively only a few who have commited terror acts. If a Catholic had bombed New York would we then hate all Catholics?

Islam does not codone the violence that a few power hungry extremists have set out and done.

Personally.... I vote for world peace. Can't we all just get along, be nice and love each other???!!!

I think there's a comment here intended for someone else, as in (1) I did not say that, may be you should read though the posts carefully before you start being insulting and offensive yourself. If you had read through my other posts on this topic you would have seen I have no problem with Muslims having their day, I also hoped they had a fun day. You would also have noticed that I do not find it discriminatory, although I said a few groups I am sure would. Also I do not live anywhere near NJ, so you comment (2) is rather uncalled for, get down off your high horse and read the full topic to which have posted.

I am not Muslim, I am not Catholic, I in fact do not follow any faith, I choose to believe in God, just not necessarily in religion.

Have a good day.

You guys are really clueless

Eid al-Fitr is always on the same day in the Islamic calender. It bumps 11 days on the Georgian calendar each year.

Just so happens it is on September 9th this year but bumped to September 10th in North America based on sightablility.

The dates are based on astronomical calculations. You can look it up and see what day it will fall on for at least the next 10 years.

I think you may be clueless. The point of this thread was to get responses like this one.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

If I am correct someone already said that there is a chance that EID changes from year to year, if that is the case there is a chance it will at some point fall on September 11th, am I right, or am I reading what you said incorrectly?

The actual day of Eid is based on the sighting of the new Moon. So this year Eid may fall on the 9th or 10th. We wont know for sure until wednesday evening.

There is no change in our lifetime that Eid Al Fitr will fall on September 11th. If that was going to happen it would have happened this year.

According to their website, the park is CLOSED on 9/10. I imagine that means it's closed to the public.

Here's a screenshot.

OCktp.jpg

Thank you for pointing that out about the park hours Legacy Member. I went to the website and it showed that they are usually closed on weekdays except for a few here and there. If the park was already closed what difference does it make if they want to rent it out and who they want to rent it out to. As for the ones complaining about how horrible it is that they are renting it on 9/10 that is the stupidest thing I have heard in a long time. 9/10 is Eid that is why they are renting it that day and not another. Why don't you call Six Flags and tell them your are concerned about this.

Just a useless bit of info:

When I lived in NJ area, everyone called it "Great Adventure", not Six flags.....

Was there a name change?

I think because there are so many Six Flags people just call it that last part of the name to avoid confusion. There is a Six Flags Magic Mountain in California and people just call it Magic Mountain.

I was at a local halal meat shop this afternoon. Big mistake, as it turns out - it's the month of Ramadan! The crowds were huge and the traffic unruly.

But that's not what I want to tell you about. I saw an interesting flyer on the window. Apparently, Muslims are reserving the entire Six Flags theme park in Jackson, New Jersey for Eid. All the vendors will be serving halal food and the only way to get in will be if you buy a ticket from a Muslim organization.

Do you think if the right-wing media chose to make an issue of this, it would resonate?

Or is central Jersey just far enough from Ground Zero?

And here is a poor-quality cell phone pic of the flyer.

So what say you, right-wingers? Is this offensive to you? Did you just shed a tear (or two) at what has become of America?

Of course its not offensive and other than the right wing wackos I doubt we will hear much about this.

Annie Hamilton:

Muslim Day at Six Flags is inappropriate for a multitude of reasons and I'm saddened and shocked by the ignorance of the Corporate folks and by the action that now must be taken by the rest of us.

First, Islam is NOT a religion, it is an ideology - the religious portion only encompasses 11 % (the qur'an) the rest is the Sira and Hadith and the closest parallel to Islam is the Ku Klux Klan - if that is Six Flag's idea of 'appropriate' then by all means, hold your day on September 12th but don't plan on expanding any time soon because not only will we ensure that you don't grow, we'll make sure that your parks become a thing of the past.

Islam is dying in America because Americans are learning (finally) what Muslims are about, what their 'faith' is based upon, how they're recruited, how they prey on the weak, their idea of 'rights' how they cannot ever respect our constitution because it's in direct violation with Sharia and how they must abide by a set of laws called dualism, compelling them to lie to others.

It is becoming WELL KNOWN that ISLAM IS DYING IN AMERICA, despite what you might be hearing from CAIR and others - the more it dies, the more frantic they become and the more they put out press releases about how 'fabulous' things are, new mosques, etc...(except they are broke and hitting others up for funds)

STOP placating them - in addition, there is no such thing as a moderate muslim, regardless of what you've heard - from the mouth of the son of a well known Imam. Islam is as Islam does. And Regardless of what you might think, there is no such thing of a 'mild' muslim, even the 'quiet' ones who live on the street corner, drive the BMW and work in the dr's office...they go to mosque, satisfy the pillars, pray, etc...and the money they are giving, that is funding terror.

it is funding terror - and by your silence, YOU are funding terror. YOU are funding terror.

STOP THE SILENCE. STOP THE NONSENCE. STOP THE MUSLIM DAY - THEY ARE NOT AMERICANS. THEY DO NOT ABIDE BY OUR CONSTITUTION - THEY ARE NOT ONE OF US - YOU ARE EITHER WITH US OR AGAINST US - MAKE YOUR DECISION.
