As I always say..... this is another example of people freely segregating themselves.

Guess they didn't get the message about the benefits of Diversity and all that?

:P

I guess your church never organizes events that are primarily aimed at the church community rather than the greater community at large? Perhaps you are just jealous that your church can't afford to buy a theme park for the day, or have enough members to fill it?

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

MC, I see absolutely nothing wrong with this group renting 6 flags to have a good time among themselves.... in fact, that was my point.

Despite all the BS about how DIVERSITY MAKES THINGS BETTER....... when given the choice, most groups decline.

And this one is a typical example.

I would imagine there are plenty of "Christian days" at these places if I wanted to go.

I'm beginning to see the value of sweat shops and manual labour. When idiots spent all their time working they had no time to indulge in lunacy of this nature.

Surprise! Glenn Beck has a problem with it too!

Beck: Let's Have 'Militia Day' In Response On his radio show, Glenn Beck said, "What we're arguing here is maybe Muslim Day with all of the kiddies and the, you know, the dragon, you know, floaties around them going to the water park might be in bad taste on 9/12." In a long and rambling segment, Beck compares "Muslim Family Day" to a day celebrating Pearl Harbor or Timothy McVeigh. He calls for a "militia day" in response and suggests he will open an amusement park in Saudi Arabia. "Come to our yak park. The rides are so wild, your kids will be yacking at our yak park, the Yemeni yak! Don't talk back! That would be great! We'll have a jingle: Yemeni yak, don't talk back. I'm opening it in the sands of Saudi Arabia." Audio here.

Beck strikes me as being slightly insane - if that's genuinely what he said, it can't be long before he spends some time instituionalised.

ah this is getting blown out of proportion. IT IS NOT THE FIRST YEAR THEY DO IT THEY HAVE DONE IT PREVIOUS YEARS TOO!!! And the white americans that would care enough to be only them at the them park are probably the ones that are in KKK or something like that. The Eastern Europeans or Europeans in general don't always get along and even if they did they aren't as close nit as the Muslim community to rent a whole park and organize their own day.

And just to make sure you all know I'm not being racist or anything here it goes I am not Muslim, I am Eastern European(white), and Orthodox (Christian) and if i really felt like going to six flags that day I'd go to my local Arabic pastry and buy a ticket

We are interested in who, you think is responsible for doing all the BLOWING out of proportion? Hmmm, a simple rewind will show that, but still....

Yes, highly suspicious.

Not to mention disrespectful...

You guys are really clueless

Eid al-Fitr is always on the same day in the Islamic calender. It bumps 11 days on the Georgian calendar each year.

Just so happens it is on September 9th this year but bumped to September 10th in North America based on sightablility.

The dates are based on astronomical calculations. You can look it up and see what day it will fall on for at least the next 10 years.

Why is anyone supposed to care about this? I sense sarcasm in the OP, and certainly MC has tossed about the smarmy comments throughout the thread, but where exactly is the controversy?

The closest thing to controversy was the statements by Glen Beck, but his gathering at the mall was so clean, hard to believe Saint Glen has an issue with it...
