I was at a local halal meat shop this afternoon. Big mistake, as it turns out - it's the month of Ramadan! The crowds were huge and the traffic unruly.

But that's not what I want to tell you about. I saw an interesting flyer on the window. Apparently, Muslims are reserving the entire Six Flags theme park in Jackson, New Jersey for Eid. All the vendors will be serving halal food and the only way to get in will be if you buy a ticket from a Muslim organization.

Do you think if the right-wing media chose to make an issue of this, it would resonate?

Or is central Jersey just far enough from Ground Zero?

Here is a screenshot of the website.

And here is a poor-quality cell phone pic of the flyer.

So what say you, right-wingers? Is this offensive to you? Did you just shed a tear (or two) at what has become of America?

Here's my question, if this was a Christian group of white folk, would they be called racists because the park was reserved just for them, are groups that are not muslim going to think that reserving the park and only being able to purchase tickets at muslim venues to enter on EID racist? Just wondering, as things in this country and in some around Europe only seem to be racist if it has anything to do with white's only. Oh and out of curiosity, are the park workers all going to be muslim too?

Just a question, don't all jump and on me and crush, it's a straight out question.

Well, let's say some Irish-American groups decided to reserve the park on St. Patrick's day. I don't think that would be racist in the least because Americans of all colors like to participate in St. Patrick's day festivities. Have you seen the St. Patrick's day parade in NY? It's the freakin rainbow coalition

I'm a minority myself and I wouldn't feel the least bit uncomfortable participating in a St. Patrick's day at Six Flags or even Oktoberfest.

Oh and out of curiosity, are the park workers all going to be muslim too?

I don't know, but I imagine not.

Yeah St Patty's Day is great the country over, had some great times with the Irish boys out in San Fran.

I am white but in a minority, I'm a redhead lol, that's my minority. Personally I don't have an issue with them having their day, so long as they don't have an issue with other religious groups having there's

Well the thing is you cant say Muslims are racist as Muslims come in all colors. White american muslims, Indian muslims, Chinese muslims. Black Muslims etc.

I am sure that a non Muslim will be welcome to go to the park on that day and I would encourage any non muslim to go if you want to see how muslims party. One thing that I know is muslims NEVER have a problem with non muslims coming to any events. I have never seen a non muslim women ejected from the mosque. I think there will be loads of non muslims there because muslims sometimes have non muslim family and friends.

Eid al fitr is a MAJOR celebration for muslims. One month of fasting and celebrating the completed month is why we have the Eid.

I am pretty sure that the park workers will be park workers but we can be sure that none of them will be jewish as its Rosh Hashanah.

I am not Muslim but you are over assuming and being hypocritical. They always have that day for as long as I remember and its always right after Ramadan so the date is because Eid begins on the 9th of this year and they go the next day. If it was the 12th they would go the 13th. Jews have their day too.

I expect any group can buy all the tickets and doll them out as they see fit, I would also imagine doing so wouldn't be cheap, so doing it just to make some point about being PC would be extremely petty and expensive. As far as I am concerned, knock yourselves out, buy all the tickets up for the day for whatever group strikes your fancy.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I wonder which is more offensive to the RWNs. Muslim Youth Day at Six Flags or Gay Pride Day at Disney?

Are you trying to be funny?

I have a dry sense of humor. Extremely dry. Call it 5 olives in a non alcoholic martini dry.
