Is the email receipt the same as noa1?

It is but it is not... the "NOA1" its the actual paper letter that makes it "official"... after you get the NOA1 you could sign up on the https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do page for you case updates, it may take a few days before they insert your case to be able to be checked online so be patient... your "receipt number it's your case number.

Don't stress out about it... a couple of years ago it used to take almost triple to process anything...

Evening all,

My wife filed my cr1 app and was delivered on the 9th of September.

No response just yet, holding out for something hopefully within the next 2 weeks.

I also had a cheque drawn out ot them and have no idea how I check the status of it!

here, with your "receipt number" you can check your case status, I recommend that you sign up for updates...

Still no update on mine, really starting to get a bit concerned as others have been processed.

I called USCIS and they told me to wait until end of next week to take any action.

Looked over the paperwork and for the G1145 I put my details and not my wifes (the peitioner) Would that affect anything?

I thought id let you know what I included in my app to play it safe.

US temp driving license

ds2011 from j1 visa for summer work (bunac)

bank statements

emails

im chat logs

only an august phone statement showing calls

3 x affidavits of support from friends

flight tickets

copy of my j1 visa in my passport

marriage certificate

photos of me and my wife

a passport photo of me and one of my wife

all pages of my wifes us passport

Anything that I have missed?

About the 1145: you could write down Santa Claus info on that one and Santa Claus will be the one getting the Texts and emails... not a problem there... the rest I dont know since its a very different case from mine.

they could be (I had 3 differnt types of applications and all 3 of them were the same when I got the NOA's)

i just assumed it would be in vermont ( as i have listed on the side bar - filing location) because when we applied for the k1 in 2007 it was done at vermont...but this one is california...

i must change my 'filing location'...lol

I dont think vermont is processing any k3 or IR-1/CR-1 right now, everything is going to California. It would make sense to send all the IR-1/CR-1 visa apps to Vermont since the NVC is nextdoor in New Hampshire, but ... LOL

Vermont was accepting very few (2 digits) IR1/CR1 until May 2010. From June 2010, they started accepting 4 digits petitions every month.

Hi Guys, Jen and I filed this month too and received our NOA1 on Sept 17th.

We are at CSC too.

Unfortunately due to my wife's condition and her grandmother - we have had to request an expedite. That was on Friday, so maybe we will hear something next week.

Its strange as I went though the k1 process with my ex wife - she was in ct and the i129 went to VT. Jen is in NJ and we are CSC.

I remember filing for our k1 and our petition was sent around september time in 06 and it was approved late Nov, with VT being backed up even then. So hopefully we may see some approvals coming in in the not too distant future.
