I am wondering the same thing! I still think they will need one from her.. its making me worried so we are sending every nvc paperwork we can and submitting a request to HK police and hoping they will send us or atleast one to the nvc since nvc is not sending me a letter or document requesting from HKP unless they are the ones that mail the letter, who knows the lady told me its not showing that they are going to need one from HK, but i will keep you all updated..

You should have asked that lady who told you she wont need it WHY? LOL I know its tempting to not say anything and hope it goes away but you know if she is wrong it will eventually surface and get you an rfe. Maybe she overlooked something but odds are somebody will eventually catch a mistake and then your delayed. Better to do what your doing, just get the HK police certificate incase you need it. Call or go to the HK embassy or to there website. Its probably easy to get. My wife worked in Taiwan and we had to get the police certificate. It was easy and fast. We went thru the Taiwan Consulate in Manila, it was all done by mail, took 2 weeks to get and it was in both Chinese and English already, no translation required. But hey you never know so just call NVC back and clarify it. Maybe for some reason she is exempt from needing it. For example, if she worked in Canada after she worked in HK then maybe she dont need HK because if she had a problem in HK then Canada would have never given her a visa. See what I mean?

right on. my wife was also told that they "probably" wouldn't check in to it since it was so long ago that she didn't need her Taiwan Police clearance. It cost a grand total of about $5 and 7 days. better safe than sorry.

yes Babalu that makes perfect sense! the lady looked in file or something and said its not showing anything that they will ask to see her HK police certificate, but still we are submitting what we have and have already submitted a request to HK police in regards to gaining a police certificate from them, just incase we get rfe

Yeah and also I forgot, The Embassy you guys do your interview might want to see it regardless of what NVC or USCIS wants. You know the embassy has the final word on whether they give the visa or not. The consular officer can ask to see pretty much anything. Anyways, your doing the right thing, just have it on hand just incase.

Some good news...my Brother received his NOA1 on Sept 2 and he just received his NOA2 email alert January 12th.

I received my NOA1 on Sept 16 and have not heard anything yet. Last time I got a "touch" was on 10-03-2010. I guess my NOA2 should be here any day now?

and BTW, we filed in the VSC.

Hi guys,

I've been following the August thread since I filed, but I decided to join this thread as well now.

Filed at the end of August and have an early September NOA1 date. I'm at CSC and still have not gotten my NOA2, nor have I gotten any touches since the original one a day after my NOA1 date.

Hoping to hear something soon as I want to be in the USA before May 21 (one year anniversary) *constantly keeping all fingers crossed*
