Hi y'all, am I in the right place? Have been wandering around in VJ today and found the topic for September IR1/CR1 Filers.

Gawdamitee this waiting is terrible. Haven't been touched by my mate since August or by USCIS since mid-September.

Planning to go back to Ulaanbaatar again in February. It is only a 90 day process for me to get the equivalent of a resident alien card there. So will do that and wait out the process there then travel to the states together.

How many here are using attorneys? I think I was fortunate in that an attorney that i collaborated with on some L visas for my employer is doing the IR1 for my wife and me pro-bono. Sounds like a lot of members are not so in favor of having attorneys involved?

hi, this thread originally started as sept i-130 filers but was merged with another thread, i think sept AOS filers also ??

personally after our K1 fiasco we wont use an attorney, simply because i have learned more about this process than he could write on a postage stamp  unless your case is a difficult one i wouldnt go near one! waste of money...but it is, after all, a personal choice.

according to stats and timelines it takes approx 5 months for USCIS to approve your i-130 and then it moves to NVC which really all depends on you on how fast this goes. average for 'yank/brit' process is 7 - 8 months...but being proactive with NVC.

i know there is more here who can give more advice and links to wikis...

we too are IR1 visa. oops, just been reading your timeline, you married this year which means you are CR1 visa, IR1 is those married longer than 2 years.

i hope things speed up for you, like womblina says....a lot of cases were moved to texas, so it is looking like california are moving a lot quicker now.

think yourself lucky...ive not been groped/fondled by my hubby since jan 10 :o i know TMI

Truebrit,

Yes you are right of course, we are CR1 Filers. Everyone else should be jealous of those of us who also have the removal of conditional status to look forward to  ! I do think things are going to speed up some at CSC as looking at historical data it would appear that the backlog typically begins to drop after about oct/nov. Of course, at this point in time I am also prone to grasping at straws!

Jeez, since January..............Aye ya ya. I guess the point of view that I take is that it is a travesty that any of us should have to think of our separations in terms of relative luck while we wait for bureaucratic paper shuffling. The only luck is that we seem to all have found the ones we were truly intended to spend our eternities with! Hope your wait is over soon!

hes over here again in jan 11 and we are currently plotting how we can get rid of my mother (who is living with me at the moment) for that week
