Awesome, congrats. I'm looking forward to reading your consulate review / experience. I'm curious to see if they treated you any different than the rest of us.

No actually they were all nice.

I will make a review tomorrow. I am so tired from my journey from frankfurt

No actually they were all nice.

I will make a review tomorrow. I am so tired from my journey from frankfurt

My interview was for 9.30am . At 9am I was at the security and it was smooth, everyone was nice. I got into the embassy, the lady gave me a ticket number,I waited for about 30 minutes for my number to be called. I went to the window, the man was very pleasant ,he checked my documents ,took my fingerprints and said everything was alright except that I need to provide a letter from my son father that he is aware that my son is traveling with me and I gave him the decision from the court that states that I have sole custody, then he said all is ok. He gave me the domestic violence paper and asked me to wait for my number to be called by the consular officer.

So I waited for about 1 hour before my number was called by the consular officer, he introduced himself and took my fingerprints and oat taking and his questions where:

1. When did you met your fiancé ?

2.when last did you see your fiancé ?

3. Was your fiancé born in the United States ?

4. Does your son father know that you are taking his son to the United States ?

5. How long did your fiancé stay when he visited you?

6.why did you decide to marry your fiancé ?

7. Have you met your fiancé family?

8. When do you plan to leave for the United States ?

9. Why was your B2 visa refused 2 yrs ago?

Then he said, everything looks good and I wish you the best in your journey to the United States . You will get your passport delivered to your address in 1 week.

The interview was so quick and easy,it took about 10 minutes.

I was in the embassy for about 1hour 30 minutes.

I was scared because I am a Nigeria living in Germany . I was not treated differently, the interview was the best part of the whole process.

I was told that I need a tax transcript from irs and a 1040 without w2 is insufficient, that's not true. All I submitted was 1040 for 3 yrs and it was ok.

It was a very relaxing experience. Now I am beginning to wonder what I had sleepless night for???

I wish those waiting for their interview best of luck and relax because it is not a problem if you know your fiancée very well and your intentions are right. It comes natural.

I'm glad it all went so well! Congratulations! :)

Thanks for the report, too. My interview will be in a week and while I'm not toooo nervous yet about the interview part - I'm super nervous about everything else. lol

Getting there in time, the security personnel, finding my way around, finding a place to store my phone etc.

---

Glad you're finally done with it all. :)

Don't worry, you will be okay. Getting there shouldn't be a problem, I live in Bremen so I got to Frankfurt and checked into a hotel on the 14th. The hotel is B&B hotel. I took a taxi to the embassy for about 14euros. It is Very lovely with good breakfast for extra 7 euros ,you can leave your phones in the hotel room or better still drop it in a safe box at the hauptbahnof.

I wish you luck and all the best.

Puh, so...

Edited by Californiansunset

Sehr komisch lol.
Wann gehts bei dir los? Hast du schon FlugtermiN?

Completely normal. It'll take a day or two, maybe a little but longer if they need to do any special background checks. They might have to do further background checks because you're not originally from Germany. Don't worry, even if it takes a week or so. You were approved, be happy and relax until the mailman knocks at your door! :)

I have a question, I have a k2 and he is German. Is there any document I have to get from the stadtarmt or burgerburo before leaving for the USA? incase I have to renew his passport in the USA or retain his german citizenship when he eventually becomes an American.
