Sorry, Im posting this question in a few different German forums in hopes of finding someone who knows/remembers the interview days in Frankfurt.

We are looking to have a short visit and just have my fiance fly back into Frankfurt on his way home as its quite a distance from his home city. We are just waiting on packet 3. Do and of you happen to know/remember if interviews are all days Mon-Fri at Frankfurt, or only specific days of the week? I dont want to book him flying home on a Wednesday if they only do appointments Mon and Tues or something.

Thanks!

According to this information about Frankfurt Consulate they are just open to public Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays, but that might not be for interviews being scheduled.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Germany&cty=Frankfurt

I had my interview last Wednesday, but I know people who had their interview the Tuesday before (but that might be because Monday was a German holiday so they made an exception). I think to be sure about the days you have to wait until your interview date is known.

Anyways, you should not book any flight if you do not have an interview date yet nor you had your interview itself.

I can understand that you want to keep the visit short but there always can come something up you didn´t expect. We waited 4 days after approval to have the visa even having issued and it is still not with the courier yet.

The girl in front of me had her flight going in 7 days from interview date and the CO wasn´t too thrilled about that and was arguing with her since she requested to have her visa issued at the interview.

Thank you!

Its not his immigration flight. He just wants to visit, its been 3 months since weve seen each other and hes only coming for a few weeks.

As I understand it these days we get a link and book the appointment ourselves on the day that works for us over an online system. Is that not the case? If so we will rethink it. But there is no rule against visiting, and in many cases it actually helps that we really do want to see each other as often as possible.

I was just trying to see if we could make it convenient so he wouldnt have to travel to and from the US and then to and from Frankfurt. Combining the travel time would be easier.

Oh, I thought you are talking about the immigration flight. Well, then it is different. :)

I am on the CR1 route, you are on the K1 route. The K1 can make their own appointments I think. The CR1 gets their dates scheduled by NVC.

But be aware that the visa comes through DHL to your German adress once it is issued. Your spouse has to sign for it and as I know they just keep it in storage for 7 days if there is nobody to sign for.

But you might give your neighbor a letter of authorization so DHL can leave it with them (not sure if it works, just an idea).

Yeah, I lived in Germany for 13 years. DHL can be jerks lol. Right now hes technically living with his mother. We gave up our apartment in Germany when we moved to London so we could both do MA programs there (he didnt have the right undergrad to do one in Germany, though he passed with honors at Camberwell...). We planned on marrying when I finished grad school but I got another offer in NY and the K1 was faster. So here I am, and there he is. But his mother can sign for the package and scan it for us to double check everything, but were also leaving the completed info, all signed and pretty, so she can theoretically send it back for us as well.
