From what I have read she was aquitted of the murder charges. The death sentence is strictly for the adultry. Her guilty verdict on that obtained from her confession which she later said was given under duress. True or not I can not say.

Now don't go ruining a good story with the facts.

That is the problem when religion runs a government, some things should just be left for God to decide unless you raped and killed a child or something of that nature (then you should be tortured and executed). It is unfortunate this woman is being made an example of. Iran and other countries governed by religion has everything western countries do....drugs, murder, prostitution, homosexuality.....but I guess the trick is not getting caught. I hope she is acquitted because none of us really know what her situation at home was like or what drove her to do the things she did.

I also agree that this is argument to which shows Islam is not a compassionate peaceful Religeon.

As Christainity and Juddiasm have done they have evolved ..Islam has not.

If Christianity has evolved then why is the Christian Right so pro-death penalty?

If Christianity has evolved then why is abstinence preached as the only tool to prevent AIDS?

I could go on but I think they still have a wee bit of a way to go before we can say they've evolved.

Thats what I had read also on several places but I went to the wiki for her and there it said that she was convicted for what I wrote before and also there and another place there was a bulletin put out by the Iran government that said she was convicted of what I wrote before and even a bulletin where the higher court affirmed her conviction and death sentence for murder, manslaughter and adultery. The only places I read it was strictly for adultery is from places where it seems either her attorney or her kid put it out that way. Also a bulletin by the Iran government said that she was not going to be stoned to death at all.

Took a look at many links to find this and the only places that say strictly that she is being stoned for adultery is from one side (Her kids and attorney) and the other side from the government itself. Now seeing she had been punished already for the adultery charge by the 99 lashes and even Iran has a strict law that says no double jeopardy and she was arrested and charged and sentenced when it came out at her husbands killer trial that she had abetted him in the planning and then found guilty tells me that maybe the Iran government may be right here. Of course we are talking about a hated government here and the prejudice is toward that government and not the victim.

I could go on but I think they still have a wee bit of a way to go before we can say they've evolved.

I never said they were against the death penalty.

BUT

With that said it is more the politicians playing on the human anger emotion towards a perpertrator of a crime.

The politician states "I am for the MAX penalty of they said crime that should be death"

But do you see these death sentences being carried out in such a inhumane way? No you do not your arguement FAILS.

I myself am not for the death penalty.

In regards to AIDS or any STD what other method other than Abstinence is 100% affective in preventing the said disease besides abstinence? 96% does not equal 100%;condoms are not 100%

With that said when they speak of such diseases and abstinence they are speaking of contracting them while engaging in sex. Wait ;your arguement again FAILS.

Please provide more of your examples.
