Anyone knows how to get to the consulate from the airport directly, and how long that will take? I'm planning to arrive in Guangzhou around noon time on Monday 9/27 (interview is 9/29) and head straight to the consulate for ACH. Is there an airport bus that I can take? If nothing else, then I'll just take a cab...

Also, anyone has a recommendation on place to stay in Guangzhou? Hopefully it can be close to the consulate.

Thanks again for all the info and advice.

I would also recommend Mr. Yang, he explained the process to my wife and also told her that I should write the EOR letter which helped a great deal with the interview process. His apartment is in the same building as your wife's interview so it was very convenient also.

I suggest you take a taxi, as you've got scant time from deplaning to 2 PM.

Yer going to this address:

Tian Yu Garden (Phase II)

5th Floor

136-142 Lin He Zhong Lu,

Tian He District, Guangzhou

in chinese:

download this document:

http://photos.state.gov/libraries/guangzhou/47024/IV/Pkt%204%20Lt%20_With%20Chn_%20Aug%2010.pdf

then note the address in chinese , is in the 'chinese' section, 2nd paragraph, is in bold, contains 136-142 in it. Print that out, take it with you, give to the taxi driver

If you engage with Mr. Yang, suggest that he meet you in front of the embassy, take your bags, then YOU get to the IV unit immediately - you have scant time. If yer lass is going to be there as well, then perhaps she can 'meet Mr. Yang and you' once you get out of the taxi, take yer luggage.

It'll be tight, but you need to get there at 2:00 PM-ish. You'll have some issues trucking yer luggage INTO the IV unit, please do NOT plan on taking yer luggage into the IV unit.

Good Luck !
