Ideas for improving VJ features?

I don't know if it will improve things, but there seem to be two different login pages. One has the options to 'remember me' and login 'invisibly'. The other doesn't. It would be nice when one is bounced out to the login that doesn't have those extra options if they were options.

(Did that make sense?)

Bottom line is, I like logging in invisibly and when I log in from work don't click "remember me". If I get bounced to this other login page, I don't have those options and have only figured out to login there, logout and then login again on the regular page.

I think the search feature could use some improvement, particularly to allow searches for short strings, such as "AOS". I think right now, newcomers have a hard time searching for useful posts. Maybe also an option to search the topic title as opposed to the contents would help. That might also encourage people to write more explicit topic titles.

You can make edits within 5 minutes currently. This was pulled in from indefinately due to abuse in the past when people made changes to what they said and denied saying it...

I agree that the search feature could get improved. When trying to search on forums, we get some weird hits that are not remotely related to the topics one should expect to get as results, even if using two or more words - and not short ones, such as "AOS" and other acronyms. So I tried to use google advanced search to search within a particular forum and that didn't work. Searching for titles could be added too.

I would modify this by saying DO show post counts, just not little boxes and hearts. A post total will let people know if the person has been on the site a long time, but isn't nearly as spam-inducing as little boxes and hearts are, apparently.

How about removing people who have never posted after a certain time. There's nearly 50 people from 2003 who have never posted - just thought it might free up some user ID's.
