Is there any advice for me as to how long it will take to get an interview scheduled? I need to hear some news. Please help.

Thanks.

P.S. I messed up in telling you all that I am a CR-1 when I had no idea what I was saying. Please stop laughing. I still appreciate all you guys advices.

Thanks. Any more information? Thanks.

I don't know anything about CR-2...BUT....

My husband's CR-1 interview was just scheduled for Kingston. The case was closed on August 25th and we received an e-mail with the interview date on August 29th. Apparently the NVC isn't waiting until the 2nd week of each month to schedule interviews. His interview date is October 29th.

Don't know if that info helps at all....

Ah - sorry for the 'further confusion' then , really.

FORUM types are seperated by 'visa type', usually, or some 'other topic'.

I've MOVED yer thread from the IR-1/CR-1 FORUM to the 'Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America' FORUM, as yer TOPIC now seems to be related to YOU coming in to USA on an immigration visa, with a USCitizen sponsering you, handling your petition. Not a 'spousal petition' at all, is no current CR-1/IR-1 in play between USCIS/NVC/USEmbassy, it's a stand-alone CR-2 visa. (Immigration Visa for a Child under 21)

I wasn't hammering on you, per se, but was trying to figure out 'what you were' as the question seemed 'not in the right pigeon-hole', and I will move a topic to the right forum, not only in the hope that it will receive the right exposure, but in the hope that someone else, a SubJect Matter Expert, will chime in and post replies back.

FORUM is important, usually, has nothing to do with the mechanics of yer question.

I guess the thing you still need to discover is HOW US Embassy/IV Unit/Kingston schedules interviews for CR-2 visas, yes? IMO, you could find this out by reviewing the Kingston VJ Page here, or by studying Jamaican timelines, or by using the search tool here. OR by calling into NVC, and asking directly. They Know All. Scheduling method SHOULD BE the same as a CR-1/IR-1 visa type, but to be certain, you really should call NVC, and inquire HOW the interview is scheduled.

Good Luck with all !!!

Darnell,

The case was completed on August 31, 2010. As I have told you I made an error by stating that I am CR-1 when I wasn't sure what I was. You have pointed out that I am in the category "Bringing Relatives of US Citizen to America". A VJyer was nice enough to point out that I was CR-2, still immediate relative, but not spouse.

How then do I view the country's portal to see how busy they are at the Kingston Embassy and make sense of it, because I went on the site and I am clueless. Is there a process step by step to follow.

Your advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
