Canada post office is amazingly slow. I don't get it. I has been waiting for her police record check over 1 month, still haven't receive them yet. Vancouver Police Department mailed it out on July 27th and Guelph Police Department mailed it out on Aug 4th. Even more surprised me is they all mailed the document by regular mail, not even register mail. So we have no tracking number whatsoever to track the mails. RCMP will take 3-4 months to do the police record check, this is insane. its crazy it takes so long on a person who never committed any crime.

When we called Canada post office and police departments, they're all very friendly and trying to help, it just too bad that Canada has such lousy service system.

My point is Can I (the beneficiary) request General Consulate in Guangzhou an interview while I'm waiting for the overseas police record check? Is that possible the consulate will grand me an interview under this circumstance?

I start panicing now, how long does our K1 process takes? When are we going to be together ever? we stuck on this canadian police record check. Anyone who has the similar situation??

Please help.

Really appreciate all your input.

XH (the foreign fiancee)

When Guangzhou posts the P-3 packet, you have up to 1 year to respond to this packet that you have the required documents for interview (The police report from Canada) once you have the required docs in hand you can then send P-3 back to the consulate (OF-169 and DS-230 PT1), they will then schedule an interview.

I would work on getting the CA police report while waiting for I-129F to process through the system, and perhaps you will have that report before GUZ mails the P-3 packet out.

You will find much more info about that particular consulate here: http://candleforlove.com

Hi YuandDan,

thanks for the help. But I've already received Package 3, I'm just waiting for my canada police report. so you meant even the I-129F approval expires, however, our K1 case is not expired yet?! as long as the General Consulate in Guangzhou mailed me the package 3, so they already have our status in the immigration status??

Do I still need to apply extension of the I-129F approval from both General COnsulate in Guangzhou and Immigration service in Vermont?

Thanks a lot

XH

The consulate will extend the validity of the I-129F approval for however long it takes for them to assign an interview.

Simply wait on returning DS-230PT1 and OF-169 until you have the CA police cert in hand.

uhm - where were the CA police records sent TO? which address?

If yer personal address -wei - you need to check in with your postman and his buddies, bring a plate of jiaozi every week, remind them to look for your letters

IF the address was to US Consulate IV Unit/Guangzhou - you should check in with the IV unit via email, once a week, remind them that the letters came into the mail room already.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Check this out: http://www.***removed***/immigration/police-certificates.html

You only need a 'name check' police certificate for US immigration purposes.... fingerprinting, according to that website, is for Canadian immigration only. Says that you only need a certification from the locality...take a look at the page for details.
