Please can anyone advise me how best to proceed.

I received the receipt and extension letter from TSC in response to my I751 application on 4 August.

It appears people are now being called for fingerprinting soon after the receipt letter arrives (sometimes even before) - there are a couple of instances on this board, and another elsewhere - since 1 July.

I haven't received the biometric/fingerprinting appointemnt letter which other have received and I am worried it may have gone astray. I tried calling the Customer Service 800 number on the receipt letter , and the result worries me even more! The automated reply system told me that my receipt number cannot be located.

What should I do now?

I wouldn't worry , but we are due to go off on a trip at the end of the month and I don't want to miss any appointment they might send.

Or if my paperwork is lost - I could wait for ever!!

Hi! If you are talking about the NOA letter for the I-751 you wont be able to track it online or on the answering machine phone or automated reply system., as they dont put I-751 NOA's in the system.

The only way you can track whats going on with the dates for your local Service Center is by visiting the processing dates link concerning the processing dates time or you can call 1-800 number and talk to the customer service person who might tell you whats going on approximately.

Best wishes. (F)

Sincerely.

Thanks Shirl and Sweetgirl

I haven't found a phone number for the local office yet, only the automated one for TSC.

I'll wait a while longer, then try again - the frustrating thing is that there's never a human on the end of the phones!

Does anyone have a phone number for TSC with a human attched, please? :(

Annatenna, you have to wait for your 2nd Notice of Action letter and find an APPLICATION NUMBER which you're supposed to use when checking your status online.

HI! I-751 Statuses is impossible to check online as they dont put the Receipts numbers in the system ,you can only check your receipts numbers for the Adjustment of Status.

Annatenna should call 1-800 number or check only the processing dates for the I-751's online.

Best wishes (F)

Sincerely.

Annatenna, this process seems to be completely random so I wouldn't get too worked up if your scenario isn't playing out exactly the same as others.

Hi again - Thanks y'all for your messages.

The plot thickens.

Today I received a second Notice of Action with a different receipt number.

This Notice states that I "will be receiving a biometric appointment notice with a specific time, date and location to capture fingerprints photo and signature. You must wait for your appointment notice before going to the ASC for processing"

It also tells me I can input the receipt number on-line for status checking... I tried this and this receipt number works - it conforms the date they received my application, that's all, then a link onward to the usual list of general dates for each Service Centre for different types of application.

My mind is at rest on one score, at least - my docs are not lost!

Now I wait for an appointment - looks like our trip to Colorado will have to wait.

thanks again everyong for your input. I'll update as and when.

A member "rkc" sent me an e-mail from VJ, but I can't see how to reply to it as it's not in my inbox here.

So this is just to say thank you rkc - and I WILL update as soon as I get an appointment. I shall ask if this is a new procedure for everyone & see what response I get ;)

There seems to be a variety of experiences just now in the way I751s are being dealt with - perhaps they are at a transition from one system to another. It seems to be that way.

Yes, we are well over 21, as you say. :P

Hi Raj

I'd guess that you are correct - that it's the applications sent in after 1 July which are being dealt with differently, being called in for fingerprint/photo/signature shortly after the Notice of Action is received.

I can't see any instances here or on Brit. Ex-pats board where anyone whose application was earlier than July was subject to the same procedure. Even so, there are still some differences - DDL on this thread got her biometrics letter soon after a first NOA, as did Mpyro- I've had 2 different NOAs and no biometric letter. Someone else had the biometrics lettter first then the NOA .

I'm wondering if it depends where you live in relation to the relevant service centre and who deals with the paperwork .

Hi Anntenna, I got exactly the same letters with you 2nd NOA + biometric letter. I was able too to check my I-751 online with new receipt number (actually it says Application number). Yes, this is probably new thing starting July 1st because people submitted before this date didnt get 2nd biometric for I-751.

Meijoe: Hi!

Just out of interest -When you got the second NOA, did it give you an actual appointment for biometrics, or was it like mine, just telling that you would be receiving an appointment?

Thanks :star:

Hi Annatenna, I got 2 different letters both at the same time. One is NOA extending I-751 for 1 year with info that I will be receving biometric appointment, etc. and the other letter is the "actual Appointment Notice" telling the date, time and place. Hope you'll get yours shortly.

Thanks, meijoe.

I shall have 3 letters by the time I get my appointment. One is straightforward receipt and extension of greencard. The second is like the one you describe, receipt, extension, and informing there will be a biometrics appointment to follow, and the 3rd (when I get it) will be the appointment itself.

I can only assume that someone sent me the wrong letter in the first instance, then it was noticed and they sent the right one. Very mysterious.
