So am I to assume that you're making the argument that BBC is demonized in the same manner that fox news is here in the US?

Actually, if you follow the UK media you will notice it gets criticized (in the UK) all the time, notably from News Corps mouthpieces but also other places as well, such as the Daily Mail

In the nature that Fox news is? Demonized beyond belief?

In the uk there is criticism of the BBC, hence the OP.

In the US, the audience share of BBC Americas news programming is so small, Boone cares.

In the UK do people on the right demonize BBC the way the left does fox news here in

the US?

Criticism is more useful than demonising. The US has a bit of a problem telling the difference when it comes to the media. Your problem really.

Some do, some don't. Not sure what I'm supposed to say to that really.

Why the word games madhouse? I'm just trying to make a comparison. Do you think that BBC receives the same sort of criticism that fox news does by its respectful critics?

You said "demonising", not respectful criticism.

It doesnt have to be this difficult, why the games?

The UK isn't as politicised as the US, where news outlets are regarded as mouthpieces of the political parties.

Dont fool yourself but yes madhouse only in the US...got it.

I have to go, until next time

So from the tenor of your post, you know all this already? Then why ask? Have you ever actually watched UK news?

I don't see what you want me to say. There is criticism of the media in both the us and the uk, but the climate is different. There is more hysteria about the media in the US, IMO.

the question you might want to ask is why other media outlets with a known bias to the right - the telegraph, the financial time, the economist, the wall street journal, the weekly standard - aren't "demonized" like fox news

Fox News Channel does itself no favors IMO. They try to combine News programming and opinion, they should have two separate channels to avoid them mixing it all up.

I also agree that the media is far more politicized here in the US than in the UK. Fox is overtly right wing while the BBC is a little more subtle in its left wing swing. I guess you could argue cultural differences as to whats acceptable.

A lot of it has to do with it popularity and people confusing commentary with News.

Or it could be that none of outlets you mentioned were cable TV news channels.

A fairer comparison would be Sky News to Fox News.
