Hi,

I am in the US now visiting my fiance, i am to return for school in 1 months time. I had hoped that we would get married on this visit, but lifes been crazy, with moving into our new apartment and alot of other stuff. Now thats all sorted out we are starting to think about getting married because we think the C1R is going to be the best option in our situation.

I am going back to school for 8 months- so during this time, I can submit my application and be able to move to the US next summer on completition of my studies.

We now have hundereds of us photos together, some with his family and friends, in different locations. Phone records. I have bought things on my card for him and visa versa. We have an apartment with a lease in our names, and a joint bank account (I set this up this time).

I only have a month left to get married, and have a celebration with his family and a short honey moon. Since my fiance is currently not off parole until another year- he cant come to the UK. When he is, we plan for him to come to the UK- and we are going to reaffirm our wedding vaules, and have a church wedding and big reception, I want to have a big wedding with my family, as that is important to me. We cant afford to have 2 expensive weddings, and we dont want to be apart for another 1-2 years. Also, i cant afford to keep making trips to the US and not being able to work.

So my question is:

Does the CR1 sound like the best option for me now?

and is having a small cheap wedding with family wedding celebration going to be enough with all the other evidence i stated here?

He has been in his job 6 months of the last year, so doesnt have the required amount of 17,500 yet but will have soon. He should be able to get a family memember to co-sponser if he hasnt.

Yes

You don't even need a celebration - simply go to the courthouse, and get married. I did. You can plan the party for later.

He has been in his job 6 months of the last year, so doesnt have the required amount of 17,500 yet but will have soon. He should be able to get a family memember to co-sponser if he hasnt.

It doesn't work that way - does his yearly income meet the level? (no matter if he only has worked for 6 months on the job). If it does, you will not need a co-sponsor - but if it doesn't then he can use a family member. (or anybody that is an USC/LPR over 18 living in the US)

Thanks for your reply.

When you say, his yearly income?

He was unemployed before this for a while. He now earns 14 an hour, so will make enough after one year. But hasnt earnt 17,500 to show in taxes yet over the year.

Do they go on his expected earnings after one year?

They go by expected income in this case.

So, if he was doing taxes for next year, what would be the total income he would put? That would be his yearly income.

He would have to prove that his income is solid - letter from the employer, stating how much he is making, full time job, etc... (paystubs - at least 6 weeks worth).
