You now have to appear in person at the Philippines consulate that covers your area. There are no more renewals by mail. If you are far away from your consulate, most have outreach programs a few times a year where they travel to different cities. We fall under the Washington DC consulate and they are coming to our area on 11 Sept. My wife has an apppointment and will renew her passport at that time. Check this link and look to the left side under "Consulate Finder" then go to the consulate page nearest you. http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/ This link has information about your passport: http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/index.php?page=consular-services-dc/faq-dc/#passport There is also information on changing your name to your married name. You have to register your marriage (if married in the US) and then apply for the passport.

I hope this helps.

Please look at the "About Me" page in our profile for our complete K-1 and AOS processing timeline.

Yep, the reason you have to appear in person is the new passport has all kinds of new security features including biometrics.

Thanks for the consulate links!

I am sorry to tell you, but you are under the jurisdiction of the Consulate in Los Angeles. That is where you will need to file your renewal in person. You can check their website for any outreach program. If you are going to renew in your spouses name you also need to have filed the Philippine report of Marriage. That you can do by mail.

Important point to remember: The LA Phil COnsulate will just suddenly post on their website that an outreach is coming to your community. SO, it is important to have all your papers and documents ready in advance because outreach is a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis, and you need to FAX in everything in advance, and if you are incomplete, then they will not sign you up in advance.

SOme here will make it sound so simple to sign up for an outreach program, when in reality it is a tedious and meticulous process that takes much advance planning and hassle.

Good Luck!

Does anyone know which consulate we can appear for future Philippine passport renewal? Mine will expire in 2014, so it's not a concern right now, but my daughter's will expire in 2012. We live in Tallahassee, FL and the closest consulates are in Atlanta, GA and in Miami, FL.

I tried searching for the info in the Philippine Embassy website, but that was a wash. :P

They usually post their press release about the outreach program on Fridays. Right now, they have outreach programs in National City, CA (tomorrow) and Las Vegas, NV in October. Which is a bummer since they've just been to both places not too long ago.

shania09, Just check their website often. :)

You have to renew the passport in person at the consulate, or a consulate outreach program. If you have not reported your marriage to the Philippines yet that will need to be done as well, you can do both at the same time.

Info on when the consulate outreach program will be in your area is listed on the left side. Info and links to forms is on the right side.
