You can book the flight, but it would be better if you didn't. I booked my flight just a couple of hours after I had the visa in my hands. Just like the previous poster, I think it's better to play it safe :innocent:

like they said....you can, but it's not wise to do so until at least you have had the interview. I booked Mhay's after her interview, but the only time I could get her with me was about 3 weeks after the interview anyway. Better to have visa in hand and have plans to go to the CFO seminar first.

I booked our flight aftr the medical because I was posative that the interview would result in a pink slip. Instead we had a RFE and it took another 3 1/2 weeks to get her visa. Fortunately I bought tickets for 8 weeks after the interview so we were ok. I wouldn't buy tickets ahead of time if I ever had to do it over again.

The embassy always strongly advises not to make any arrangements until the visa is issued in case there are problems or the beneficiary will be denied.

But you don't NEED the visa to book your flight, so you CAN do it if you want.

I understand you want to be prepared or get cheaper prices on tickets and be there asap, but it's a risk!

You could try to make reservations a few days prior to your interview date so you can just call the travel agency and tell them to book the flight for real when you have your visa in hand.

But I know that might work for a time frame of only 3 days since the airlines don't like to have reservations on their seats forever.

Good luck!

Alles wird gut und wenn es noch nicht gut ist, ist es noch nicht vorbei.

NO but if something goes wrong and you cannot fly, then it's a finance problem-because they don't return full fares

so i'd wait till after unless you are sure everything will go smooth!
