Whos in Maryland,washington,Northern Virginia Area? Maybe we can all get a Vj meeting up in a few months :) that would be fun!

I'm in VA!! There are quite a few of us!!! Good luck on getting a meet up organized, none have been successful yet,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

02-date forgotten-2008: met online playing a game called lineage 2

06-17-2009: met in person for the first time!

06-26-2009: proposal <3

10-6-2009 through 11-3-2009: lived together for a month

03-24-2010 through 03-30-2010: traveled to meet his family

06-16-2010: started printing paperwork for I-129F package

06-25-2010: mailed off the I-129F package!!!

07-06-2010: NOA1 (according to the paper I hadn't got yet)

07-08-2010: check cashed

07-12-2010: hard copy NOA1 received in the mail

07-12-2010: touched

10-03-2010: touched

10-29-2010: NOA2!

11-08-2010: NVC received our petition

01-01-2011: called embassy as we never got packet 3. got "lost" in the mail. worst 2 months ever!

01-18-2011: medical! passed!

02-18-2011: INTERVIEW! APPROVED!!

03-02-2011: FLIGHT! POE: Dulles Airport!

03-09-2011: marriage certificate/license complete!

05-11-2011: mailed out AOS package (after a long fight getting the varicella vax done, and the medical paperwork completed)

05-13-2011: package delivered

08-11-2011: welcome to the united states notice! green card coming in 3 weeks!

12/31/2009 - Marriage

07/21/2010 - AOS approved

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

I am not there yet, well I am visiting but still waiting to hear a interview date, should be there by November. At the moment we will be Up In Williamsport MD but we are house hunting In the area of Chantilly VA etc. Oh I will get a get together...together haha. Once I am here for good that is :)

Woot - well we're right here waiting for you! Technically we live in Centreville - but more on the Chantilly side near Westfield highschool (28 & 50-ish). Where are you aiming for in Chantilly? We go out to South Riding (a subdivision) to grocery shop and stuff)

To be honest we don't really know yet, We looked at a few houses In "the meadows of chantilly" but I would like to own my house and the land. Although I have never seen a "mobile home" community look so nice and they insides are gorgous but its not worth the money monthly.

We are looking in different areas as well, My husband is working in Herndon VA so we are trying to get closer to there as he is 1.5 hour with no traffic to work.

ok - think i know where you mean - we have a townhouse - but there is such a variety around here, I'm sure you'll find something - good gawd p from MD to Herndon everyday? He's a trooper

Yes he is lol, bought a 3 hour drive there and back, but he also works at different locations so he goes to the office in Herndon then ends up at falls church, or Alexandria, even Waldorf one day. I cannot wait to live in Northern Virgina almost everywhere is nice except ummm leesburg we went to see some "apartments" in leesburg and well its just not the place for raising children or atleast not what I saw.
