Good Afternoon everyone...

I had my interview this morning, and I just wanted to post my experience...

My appointment was at 10:30, and I got called in just after 11. The IO officer was incredibly nice, and was happy and upbeat. I walked into the office, raised my right hand and agreed that I will only tell the truth.

He first asked me for my Passports, GC, and RI ID...(Driving license), he went over them briefly. He then explained the question process and went straight into them...they were,

Name one war from the 1900's

Who is the chief justice of the US now

How many members are in the House of Representatives

We elect a US representative for how many years

When do we vote for a president

Who was the first president

I answered all 6 correctly, he then asked me to read a passage for me speaking test, which I can't remember what was written, and the he handed me a pen and asked me to write "George Washington was the first President"

After that, we went through the application...I signed some forms, he stamped some papers and that was it...all done, it went real fast...around 10 mins in total. I took a stack of paperwork with me, 3 years of everything, but he didnt ask for any of that...so it was complete.

BUT...lol, always is one...my GC is valid from September 4th, today being the 1st...so he handed me a letter saying I passed the test, but a decision couldn't be made at this time, as I have to wait for the GC to be valid...Which he assured me that all should be fine unless I do something totally beyond the law in the next 3 days...I should receive the oath letter soon.

So, there you go...thank you for everyones help on this forum, I will post my oath date on the site as soon as I have it...Good luck to all the June filers, and everyone else.

Peace always...

It's not future dated, it just means OP received residency on 9/4/2007 and for that reason could not take an oath until it has been full 3 years from residence in the US.

Thank you V333k, and Milimeno...and thank you for that explanation Milimeno...the IO officer kinda made a joke about it, saying you've officially passed, but un-offcially until Sept 4th rolls around. I'm sure there wont be any problems, I assume this has happened a few times in cases?

Yes, has happened before - there were accounts of people who were in the same position as you - they received their oath ceremony invitation a couple of weeks later.

I'd give it a couple of weeks to a month and then call the USCIS line to see when the oath will be scheduled .

Thanks for that I learn a bit more every day...

So I will get a form that says 'further consideration' because my interview will be well before the 3 year qualifying day at this rate... (november 5)

At least I know to expect that now and not get all down in the mouth and wondering what the further consideration is..

yes thanks good info
