Hello,

My fiancee just received her letter packet from the embassy. Now it is the time for me to fill out I-134. I am working full-time at a solid Pharma company and my income is sufficient to sponsor her, but I have only been working here for three months and for the paperwork this position is through an agency and temporary. So I am not salaried and cannot provide proof of a yearly salary. My good friend is willing to cosponsor me if needed, but he is in a similar situation and for the paperwork his position is temporary, although he has worked at his company for three years now. The questions are: Will I need and can I use my friend's help? Is it possible for him to provide a copy of his last year's income tax return instead of the letter from the employer since that option is for the self-employed? Do the documents need to be notarized?

Thanks a lot in advance!

1. You do not have to be "salaried" You have to have an INCOME or assets.

2. Three months is fine. If you got a job making $60,000 per year YESTERDAY and you fill out the I-134 TODAY...your "current annual income" is $60,000. Attach a check stub, they can do the math.

3. Employment letters are optional. Use check stubs to verify employment. Give them all three months. At NO TIME do they ask "is this employment permanent?" nor do they ask "Is this full time employment?" It does not matter.

4. Nothing needs to be notarized. That means NOTHING needs to be notarized.

5. Yes, you can use a co-sponsor. Yes he can attach tax returns (he and you only need ONE and it really doesn;t matter hw much money you made last year)

6. Doesn't sound like you need a co-sponsor

I would say, for the consulate in Ukraine...

1. state your CURRENT INCOME on the I-134

2. Attach a copy of last years tax return with w-2s. The amount you made is not important.

3. Attach 3 months check stubs

4. Attach a bank letter or 3 months bank statements.

5. sleep well, you got this part covered.
