Yeah, If you didn't receive a letter stating they needed something, then why the heck are you in AP? thats bull #######, do what above poster says and call someone who can tell you exactly what is going on. :)

i just called dos again, to get someone more helpful. the lady said that when they say it is in administrative processing or review it doesn't mean that something is wrong and it isn't anything to be worried about. she said i should call back middle of next week and hopefully something will be printed. i would assume if our case was officially in ap then it would say so in our case file.

this sucks.

when we were waiting for mine after i sent in paperwork. Everytime I called dos I got a different answer. We got an email from my SO's congressman saying that it was printed and would be there by the end of the week (we got the email on tuesday). Since I was checking Canada post for the package and it still wasn't showing up, i called the dos. Everyone there told me a different thing. One day I would get someone saying they hadn't even received teh paperwork i had sent! the next day they'd say it'd been printed. The day after that it wasn't printed yet but they were reviewing the paperwork.

Keep checking Canada post if you have the tracking number because (shockingly!) Canada post is more reliable than the dos. haha.

if it goes on for any longer. I highly suggest contacting your SO's congressperson. Ours at least were able to update us on what was actually going on since montreal responds to emails from congress. haha. cause they don't respond to anyone else.

DOS will tell you you're in AP whenever there is something, big or small, that is causing some kind of delay. You said in your consulate review that there were some weird questions about credit, so it's very possibly they are finishing some last minute name checks to ensure everything is in order. Or it could be something really simple, like the IO who interviewed you needed to pass your file along to someone else because she was leaving, which has caused a little bit of a delay. Or, they have approved you, and they haven't got around to actually printing the visa, so the DOS system just shows that your case is sitting in limbo so they throw the "AP" word around because they have no way of knowing what is really going on.

I remember Coralie was told she was in AP for weeks, after the consulate asked her for some more documents. She sent them out right away, and they just sat in the mail room for weeks before anyone actually processed the information and linked it up with her file. When everything was found and processed, she received her visa very quickly. All the while DOS was telling her she is in AP.

i just got off the phone with my congressman's office. she called someone, and said that we are going through security checks, montreal passed our file on to DOS the day we had our interview and it is probably just sitting someone (whatever that means). she said if we haven't heard anything in two weeks to call her back.

i just can't believe this.

Wow, I can't believe this! You must be sooooo mad! My thoughts are with you and I hope you hear some good news soon... After all, you were told you were approved, I don't see how they can turn around and just put you in AP without even letting you know (thanks, Montreal)...

Hang in there, I guess I don't know what else to say, this must be such a pain in the ***...

i'm losing my mind. seriously.

if they printed the visa on the second, shouldn't he have it by now???

So, he hasn't received the enveloppe yet... What happens when he checks on the Canada post website? Well, I think you should consider calling the embassy at this point... This sucks, you're in my thoughts girl, hang in there! (F)
