well the interviewer did say she was going to 'make sure' we were ok (she was unfamiliar with the credit report and address check nvc had provided them). this all scares me cause i feel like we might be in ap or something. not knowing is killing me. dos says everything is good to go, just waiting to print and send.

as always, nothing can be done but wait.

In this kind of situation--it calls for drastic measures--ask yourself "What would Kim Mitchell do?"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QylncpJy5Rc

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

hi guys.

we had our interview in montreal august 23rd.

short review, the interviewer said we 'looked' approved but if we hadn't received the visa by the 30th - there 'might be a problem' and to send an email to the consulate. her last day was august 27th.

which we all know - sending an email to the montreal consulate is like calling cairo with a tin can and string.

i've been calling dos daily, and they say - looks like they have everything they need, but the visa hasn't printed yet.

this is killing me, we've got a huge move to make and we're in total limbo..

when should i pack my car up and drive to montreal???

what should we do, how long do we wait before assuming something is wrong?

Hey i know what you are going thru. I had my interview June 23rd. 2 vjers were there that day aswell and i was the 2nd person interviewed and they got their visas within 3 or 4 days and i didnt get mine and i knew we were approved as the guy said congrats you will have your visa within 5 -10 days. So i sent them an email at 9am on July 6 putting in the subject line (visa approved after interview on June 23rd no passport with visa received) i got a resonse within 5 mins saying my visa was printed that morning and got an email from canada post saying the package had been delivered by them to go out. MTL is so slow, even in Maine at my POE the officer commented on how slow MTL is

I know how you feel too. I'm sure it's on it's way. They let you know in the interview if you will be put in AP. When mine was finally approved it still took over a week to get it. Calling USCIS didn't seem to help as one day htey'd say it was approved and the next they'd say they're still waiting for the additional documents to be sent in!

I didn't get an FAQ letter or a Welcome to America letter at my interview. When I got my packet in the mail they had that information taped to the front of the sealed brown envelope.

It's pretty normal for Montreal to take a few weeks (or months...) when doing pretty much everything, so I wouldn't worry just yet.

It feels so 80's in here...

Ahhhh, gotta love Kim Mitchell...he just played a concert with Honeymoon Suite (another ode to the 80's) this past w/e in Dorchester, ON. I miss his long hair. Looks kinda freaky all bald.

Valerie, I posted something on your wall, did you try it?

i'm scared to piss them off, i'm going to use that as a last resort.

well, since i called dos today and they still haven't printed it - i'm going to do that tomorrow or tuesday latest. i can't think of any reason why it hasn't even printed yet other than something horrible..i'm trying to think the best but its impossible.
