RFE is in. Need a joint sponsor for the affidavit of support. I kinda knew that the chance was high that that would happen, but I wanted to try it on our own first. Now we'll use her dad as a joint sponsor and send all the paperwork back.

So I got an e-mail today saying my I-485 has been transferred to a USCIS office for processing...does this mean my local office?? It doesnt specify in the e-mail.

Weird as on a couple weeks ago it was transferred to California Service Center.

No, for the k1 visa I was able to use the income from my Dutch company and letters of intent from three of my Dutch clients. In the affidavit of support for the AOS it was stated that you could use you own income if it continued to come from the same source as before you applied. So I used my Dutch company income again. In the RFE however it was stated that the income had to be from a US company, something that they left out in the instructions.

Hi everyone,

I got my NOA 1 14 sept and since then, nothing happened. My I485 is still at "accetpance" stage which really worries me. Also I haven't got the biometrics letter yet and I've been waiting more than a month. So I called USCIS this morning and they said they would request the biometrics appointment for me. If i still gets nothing in 30 days, I should call again.

Does anyone have similar situation? What can I do to accelerate the process apart from waiting?

Thank you all

Jiali

Have you had your biometrics appointment yet? That's one reason I can think of why they'd transfer it to the local USCIS office...the other would be an AOS interview.

Yeah I had my biometrics 14 Oct..at the beginning of Oct I had an email saying my case was transferred to California for processing and yesterdays email just said my case had been transferred and is now being processed at office...wish these emails would be more clear as to what exactly is happening!

It's not uncommon...I've heard of other cases passing back and forth until an interview is set or until a decision has been made.

Okay here's the scoop: Pay close attention to how the email is worded!

If it says, "The case has been transferred and is now being processed at a Office", this means that your case has been successfully received at the California Service Center.

However, if it says, "The case has been transferred and is now being processed at a local Office", that means it was routed through the NBC to your Local Field office and in that case, you can expect an interview for sure!

Hope this helps!
