State ID exp and interview proof

I am gathering things for if we have an interview. My husband has a state ID (Ohio) which expired when his K-1 expired in August. He is not going to be able to get a new one obviously until after either the EAD or green card. Is this still ok proof for the interview to show matching addresses for both of us? Will they have a problem it is expired? He only just got it a month or so ago.

As long as you submit utility billswith an address that have both of your names on it, it shouldn't be a problem. My DL was two years expired with a totally different /out of state/ address on it and the IO didn't care.

That is the problem. We are living with my mom until we can get on our feet with the addition of his work authorization when that comes through. Therefore we don't have any bills sent to us, they are sent to my mom.

Any life insurance policies, car leases? Phone family share plans? They will give you hell if you don't have anything like that. (If you're interested I can PM you my interview horror story, that almost ended up catastrophic because of the lack of these kind of documents...)

joint bank account? that was all we needed although we had the rest mentioned he didn't even really want to see that lot. another thing you could take are print outs of emails.. i know we constantly emailed each other throughout the day while Sarah was at work? just an idea..

We haven't gotten an interview date, but we're just collecting info just in case.

So far I have:

joint bank accounts

pictures from wedding and of us together since then

letters addressed to both of us at the same address

emails (we communicate while I am at work so at least a few per week)

ID's showing the same address (although his is now expired)

Want to get copies of:

wills showing us each as the beneficiary

affidavits from friends/family

affidavit from my mom saying we live together in her home

letter from my employer showing him as emergency contact

-life with him as beneficiary

At my interview, the IO was really "upset" when I only presented a couple joint utility bills. We didin't have a joint bank account, because the banker told me, that I was "lacking of credit history", /because i didn't have a SSN back then/ and she was unable to add me to my wife's account.

The IO was like: "is this all you have???? Not a bank account? Not a life insurance policy, nothing??"

Some IO's are easygoing, some are hardcore. You can never know what they are going to find that they won't like. My advice is to everyone to be over-over-over prepared, bring ANYTHING that has your name on it.

we showed them that I was on my wife's car insurance, health and dental insurance also. although he didn;t look at these in detail he made his mind up pretty quickly since we had all this. can you not put your spouse on the car insurance at least? it would probably save you money too. it did for us! :-)

i think with one of the above and what you have you'll be fine :-)

We live just the two of us, and still didn't show any utility bills in both of our names. All of them, as well as the house are still in my (maiden!) name.

We did show Nik's expired AZ DL, and a voided check from our joint account with both of our names on it. Then, we emptied our wallets and showed her identical sets of insurance cards from Car, medical, dental, and also a set of debit cards, and credit cards. We had printed out a couple of sheets with multiple photos from the wedding, and other events - a party we'd been to, and trips we'd taken around the state...

We MIGHT have shown some christmas cards or something addressed to both of us, but I can't remember if they were looked at or just kept in reserve.

We had no affidavits from anyone, wills or anything like that. I think the list of stuff that you have is more than sufficient. I wouldn't bother putting your family and friends out of the way for affidavits. Especially if you might still be transferred...
