Yes, financial sponsorship is mandatory for a spousal visa to the USA.

Do you or your husband have any assets that could count? Maybe cast your net wider looking for a co-sponsor amongst friends, neighbours, people at church etc?

A cosponsor does not have to be a relative. Any US citizen or LPR can be a sponsor.

Hello Ruby~

It is mandatory for someone to be able to co-sponsor with you to bring your husband to the US. This is so he does not become the financial responsiblity of the US. It can be anyone who makes enough to qualify, it doesn't have to be a relative. There is no other option if you want him here with you. Being a Coptic Christian doesn't matter either.

I wish you luck on your VJ!
