Quick question:

I'm going to be sending in my k-1 petition on Friday. I just wanted to know if the AoS is included in this original filing or if you do that closer to the date of the interview for my fiance. I'm terrified that I am going to send in this application and they are going to say things are missing or take my payment and say, "too bad, you don't qualify." I'm so nervous about not doing it correctly.

how much luck have you girls had with getting your S.Os from Jordan here??

You normally send it for the interview. (as close as you can - so it's up to date).

They wouldn't just deny you out right if your missing something - they would send it back or send an RFE for it.

Read the guides above for more guidance.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

The K-1 and AOS are two separate filing. You will need to file the AOS after your fiancée/fiancé is in the country and you have gotten married. Don't worry too much about missing a document' if you do, you'll receive a RFE and as long as you provide what is requested in the alloted time-frame your case will resume processing.

Good luck on your journey.

Thank you so much! I was nervous about posting because I felt that everyone here was a close-knit community and might feel that I was butting in.

Thanks for your quick responses. I must have misread that I needed the AoS in the original documentation. That's a huge load off my mind.

Thanks again!

There seems to be some confusion in this thread. When you say "AoS", are you referring to "Affidavit of Support" or "Adjustment of Status"?

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

I assumed he meant the affidavit of support (since he is sending/doing the K-1, and talked about the interview (at the embassy)

I usually say AoS = affidavit of support

AOS = adjustment of status.

But I also take in account what forum I am sitting in :)

but you know what happens when you assume...

Sorry for being unclear. Yes, I meant affadavit of support. It's scary getting ready to send it out because that's it, once I send it, it's gone!

I lucked out that the fiance's father had the generosity to actually give me the money for the application and shipping. That was so awesome of him! I'm just waiting on passport photos and we'll be on our way. This feels so surreal.

Thanks again for the outpouring of support, didn't expect that!
