Calling Dept of State

I saw somewhere that someone who got their visa approved quite quickly had been calling the Department of State regularly to check/chase the progress of the petition . Does this make a difference? Any personal experience of this anyone?

I called DOS a grand total of one time.

I called 1 week after packet 3 was mailed off to confirm it was received, and packet 4 arrived before I could make the second weekly call.

I find this strategy is much more helpful because spacing out the calls gives them a chance to get something done so there is an actual chance that there will be a change when you DO call. Sort of like trying to loose weight. If you check the scale very frequently you'll see no change and get discouraged....

as for 'continually calling DoS to talk with them' - sorry, I can't see how it's directly related to fast approval with fast delivery of visa packet.

DoS Hotline is 'a day off' most 'real time events' at an Embassy, but they DO have the info.

But hey - I'm trainable, always- can you 'vette' what you saw/read/heard, with a bit more info? or a VJ member profile url ? TIA !

No, it doesnt make any difference. I called them a few times a week every week and it still took 7 months after first interview and 3 months after second interview. Now contacting the embassy every couple days might make a difference, though i did that once a week through ours.
