how long until the visa interview in London?

hey guys n girls

Can anyone give me a rough idea how long it takes the documents to get london and then the wait for the interview?? We just got it approved yesterday ( 15th aug) at the USCIS after it was recalled back to USA for the new law that my finace needed a background check. All was going smooth before this we were just awaiting an interview date. Any help would be great

Every case is different, but you can get an estimate by looking at other people's timelines.

Click on "Immigration Timelines" and then sort for UK. I used this to guess when we would get packet3, packet4 and an interview date--I was only a day or two off from the actual date everytime.

27 Feb. 2006: K1 petition sent to Nebraska Service Centre

2 March 2006: NOA1 dated (received in mail on 9 March 2006)

4 May 2006: NOA2!!!!! (DAY 66)

8 May 2006: File Sent to NVC (as stated on email dated 9 May)

24 May 2006: NVC sends our file to London Embassy

8 June 2006: Packet 3 arrives (DAY 101)

25 August 2006: Pack 3 sent to London Embassy registered post

29 August 2006: London Embassy receives my Pack 3 - 9/9/06 pack 4 arrives

SEPT 2006:APPLICATION PUT ON HOLD - WE HAD A FALLING OUT.

MAY 2007:RESUMED THE VISA APPLICATION

6 June 2007: Medical @ 2.30pm - need to get anew GP letter and psychiatric evaluation

7 June 2007: INTERVIEW @ 10am - waiting for new police record letter

3 July 2007: APPROVED/Visa arrives

We got our interview date within a couple of weeks- I admit that I emailed the embassy on a DAILY basis- sometimes a few times daily- until the date was given. This was back in January.

See my timeline for all previous dates!

Naturalization:

6/28/09: Mail N-400 to Texas

7/6/09: NOA1

7/24/09: Biometrics

10/08/09: Interview

11/21/09: Receive oath date

01/22/10: Oath Date

With thanks to all the helpful people who made this journey slightly more bearable.

from USA approval to visa in hand took us about 3 months. But like pnd said check the timelines.....

K1 Application

23 Feb 2006 - I-129 mailed

14 August 2006 - Approved!!!! :-)

21 October 2006 - Married in the mountains of North Carolina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AOS Application

6 November 2006 - Applied for AOS, EAD and AP

09 Decemeber 2006 - e-mail received to say case was trasferred to California

16 December 2006- biometric appointment in Charlotte, NC

20 Jan 2007 -AP approved

24 Jan -EAD approved

28 June -Green card ordered

7 July wedding celebrations in Scotland
