Hello all!

I have just received my call from the US Embassy in Manila to schedule my medical and interview. However I do believe our situation is quite unique from most due to a couple of reasons:

1. First of all my man is in the US Army and is leaving for Ranger School from Mid-Oct to Jan. We filed early since we had not anticipated it would be processed this quick. We filed June and by August it had already reached Manila. So I decided to have my medical and interview scheduled for December to give us more time to prepare, and mostly because I can't leave till Feb anyway. Plus.. it sucks that I will actually have to go through this process alone! He can't even wish me luck or ask how it went afterwards.. boo!

2. I am currently employed in Shanghai, China as a teacher. I have been here for two years already. This brings me to my question about the police clearance! I have been here since Feb 2009, and from Feb 09 till Jan 10 I was a student learning Chinese. From Jan 10 to October 10 I was a teacher. Does my police certificate have to indicate my entire stay here from 2009-2010 or will just 2010 suffice?? Please let me know, I hope someone can help me!!!

Thanks all.. thats all I wanna know so far!

Steph

Hello Stephanie

Once you receive your NOA2 notice from USCIS that your petition for I-129F is approved, you have 1 year to finish the process. Mine was approved in Jan 27, 2009 and I had scheduled my interview almost a year after even though I got a notice from USE Manila that I can schedule my medical and interview as of Feb 2009. I did my medical in Dec 2009 and my interview on Jan 11, 2010 a year before my NOA2 expires. You can email USE Manila and inquire if you can do the process in December or on your targeted date.

For the police clearance, I am not sure do they usually put dates like years on how long you stayed in that country? I worked in Dubai for 3 years and when I obtained police clearance it does not mention any dates from - to only mentions that I have no records as of XX-XX-XX.

Wow, thanks!

I feel so much better now.. There was another pinay who told me that waiting too long to do my interview would look bad because they'll think I wasn't interested. I'm glad to know you waited that long but everything still went smoothly. :)

Yeah, the police clearances in China have dates. Weird. But I'm sure I can sort it out before my interview :)
