My boyfriend is a GC since February 2010. We plan to marry but we thought iof waiting until he becomes a US citizen because it takes a long time to become a GC holder through marriage i the 2A category. However., by checking the visa bulletin we saw that the present cutoff for 2A is currently 1jan 2010. Does that mean that if I marry him now, I could become a PR in 9 month based on the current visa bulletin? Please help.

Thanks

Not quite; it means they will start working on your case in 9 months, and then it will take 7-9 months to the interview. Still, less than 2 years and you should have your visa! Plus, should things be delayed and your priority date is not current when he becomes a USC, he can contact them and get them to upgrade the petition, so best to marry and file asap.

so even if now the cutoff is jan 1st 2010, it can still regress?

do you loose your F1 visa if you file for 1-130? i am asking because next year i will have to apply to either OPT or H1b and I want to have my chances to get those visas even thought I applied for i 130.

Please advise

No, you will not loose any of your previous US visa if you get married to PR but you have to maintain your own status in US.

If you get married to PR now then don't wait till he becomes citizen unless he going to be USC in 6 months... if more.. then file immediately and you can always upgrade your file to spouse of UCS from LPR.
