I have filed my I-130.

What can I expect the next step to consist of?

Hello

I hope someone from Panama respond your post.

Im from Mexico.. and next step (here in Mexico) is receive the approval letter of the I-130. And then they send the information to the Consulate where the interview will be done. And they ask first for "packet3" information, we send it and then wait for the interview letter.

But I have read some posts of other countries and seems to be different. So I think you better check the website of the consulate in Panama.

Why did tell you the officers when you file the I-130?..they should tell you about next step.

Hi...DCF process is different in all US consulates. I checked panama immi website ,but there is not enough information...

As per my knowledge ,you will receive a Packet 3 from your consulate within 1 month (this time can be vary).It will includes DS-230 part 1-2 ,DS-2001 form ,checklist and your petition case number letter.

Ok so wait for 3 weeks from your petition filled date,if you will get nothing then send email or call to the consulate where u filled ur petition.

I was told by the Officer that I was to expect their approval of the I-130 via mail with further instructions, so for now I am waiting.

you might want to get a DS-230 and practice filling it out, also gather yer civil documents

and have the USC spouse practice filling out the I-864.

I've already filled them out and have all my docs ready, though I think I will need to get new police certs, as the ones I have will be expiring soon.
