Hello,

I submitted the I-130 form for my daughter on August 2nd. After not receiving anything from the USCIS, I was told by an operator today that they mailed me the receipt notice on August 18th. I have never received it. I verified with the agent that they have my correct address, but strangely, the form never got to me. I was told that they are not able to send me a duplicate receipt. They gave me the case number, so I'm wondering if I really need to get the receipt notice. I know that the approval notice will be the important form to get. Am I correct or do I need to get the receipt notice somehow?

Thank you.

i dont really know..but what is important i think is you have the case number, you could try checking ur case status in USCIS website by typing your case number...it will show up there if its in initial review,...,then thats fine.

Thank you, maui23. I think that making sure I receive the approval notice will be more important than trying to get the receipt.

maybe it's time to 'become friends' with yer postman ? Suggest to bake some brownies or cookies, meet the postman, face to face, have a talk, become acquainted, use your full name in a sentence with him/her, hand over a name card.

Also- make sure YOUR NAME is listed in any postbox, along with the rest of the occupants of that address. Hand-write a card with the names.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks, Darnell, for your suggestions :) Very practical. The funny thing is that I've never failed to receive any correspondence before. Tres bizarre..

The mailbox has my name on it, but I will re-write it. And I will definitely inquire about this piece of mail with my mailman (in a nice way, of course).
