Have you guys travel to Vietnam with ANA Airline? Officially, we are only allowed to carry only 1 piece of baggage (22lbs). But I am planning to carry two pieces: a luggage and a bookpack. Do you guys think that would be a problem? It was not a problem with Korean Air.

The only way to check is to check with the ANA website.

My wife traveled on BA to Thailand recently; she was caught by a $60 airport charge for the second bag.

1 bag is pretty much the standard now.

The good thing was that on the return trip, I was able to go to the BA website & pay $45 for the extra bag

on the return flight with my credit card, saving $15. That's a discount for pre-paying the extra bag charge.

I did not travel, but I bought the rount-trip ticket with a joint credit card.

That really sucks. I have so many stuffs.

You can't have "stuffs" - stuffs is a verb - "he stuffs the ballot box and hopes not to get caught." (The verb to stuff means to put things into a container, but the noun stuff means the contents of the container.)

You meant to say "I have so much stuff."

- stuff is a "mass noun" which in this case is gramatically singular

but effectively represents a group or unbounded mass of things.

Mass Noun - see also Collective Noun

I have so many friends - you use many with a plural noun but much with a mass noun that has no number (like stuff).

I have so much hope, so much money (mass nouns, gramatically singular).

have so many dollar bills (plural noun).

If you can count it (or them) use many.

If you can't count it use much.

:) Strangely, I like this grammar lesson.

Well done; strangely (adverb) goes with the verb "to like."

If you said "Strange, I like this grammar lesson" it would

be wrong because strange is an adjective. ex: A strange person.

"Strangely" answers the question "how do you like the grammar lesson" - "strange"

does not.

back on topic....

If flying from VN and you start with ANA, I believe they allow 2 carry-ons, but the TOTAL weight must be 20 lbs or less. However, the weight limit for your check-in is higher. Last time I left VN travelling on ANA, they made me basically stuff everything into my check-in, because I put the heaviest stuff into my carry-ons.

paid off :bonk:

Why? I can still use "pay," right? I am using "pay" in the present tense to demonstrate that my college education continues to "pay off."

I checked the website, it says 22 lbs or less. But, realistically, I saw people carry much more. I am planning to carry 35 lbs.

the official requirements are below. you can carry a luggage and a "handbag"

Carry-on Baggage

Carry-on baggage should be limited to one piece, must not weigh more than 10kg (22 lbs) and fit underneath the seat in front of you, or in the overhead baggage compartment. The dimensions of carry on baggage should not exceed linear maximum length of 115cm (45 inches),and each side should not exceed 55cm*40cm*23cm (22*16*9 inches), including any baggage attachments such as handles, wheels, etc. Personal belongings such as handbags, cameras, glasses, etc, may be carried on in addition to the above limitation. There may be more limits based on available space and additional restrictions on certain flights. You can purchase extra seats for your baggage occupying a seat because of its unsuitable size for carry-on baggage allowance, e.g. paintings, musical instruments, etc. Please contact to ANA Customer Service Center for detail.

Nice, I cannot believe I miss that part. I just skimmed through the part about one piece and assumed that only a luggage is allowed. Thank man.
