Absolutely not

Where in what I wrote gives a free pass to someone discriminating against another?

Simply stated that there are as many minorities whinning in an effort to gain more than equality as there is white people griping about being discriminated against becasue they are white.

Absolutely not in what?

I'm not sure if you didn't notice, but I'm not accusing you of anything. Just your logic, which we tend to see a lot of when some racists (again, not identifying you) use the double standards slant to hide their racism. Just that.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I can see you point in what you are saying.

But it is a truth in itself when we the populace must use tactics in these times to what some would promote as equality among everyone.

IE A minority worker with below average scores for a job position vs a caucasion man will be given a position they are clearly under qualified for; just to fill quotas.

Now if it were all the same in qualifications then I can see were a minority would recieve the benefit of being in the minoity group.

But this is not clearly always the case as we have seen over the past few years.

The firefighter test in some city comes to mind.

The tactics IMO are nothing more than cowardice.

What is quantifiable, otoh, is that the example of that 'affirmative action' type of promotion to positions in this society are being over represented by this same cowardly group in order to exploit the equality angle in this supposed 'post-racial' society we know doesn't exist- because what is more prevalent and statistically veritable- is quite the opposite... that we are still not yet at a point as a society where those kinds of policies can be removed because to a degree, institutionalized racism still exists, although clearly not what it was 3-4-5+ decades ago.

This does not excuse the flip side from being 'permitted,' but one should not excuse one's own prejudice in the more singular instances where the 'opposite' occurs.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

UHM to much thought in that for me Hal

But I would agree there are those in positions who clearly discriminate and only hire to fill quotas.

At the same time as stated there are under qualified minoities placed in positions where better qualified non minoity peopel should have been given the position.

To argue that is to admit ignorance.

Every Human alive has prejudicial thoughts it is the actions which they take that makes someone act in a racist manner.

In my line of work, people always 2nd guess me, think I am "new" or was the affirmative-action hire w/o my full credentials.

I would ask what you did or do that promotes that thought process.

Only and idiot would make assumptions of anyone executing a job being under qualified unless that person acted or performed in way that showed incompetitenceand that would possibly lead to the next thought process of being an affirmative-action hire. I can not say I have ever personally hired or thought of someone being hired for affirmative action.

Those I hire either can execute the job or not and I hire the best qualified.

one term that really ticks me off - reverse discrimination.

What upsets you?

That is does not exist because anyone of any origin can discriminate against another person whether a minoity or not. Discrimination = Discrimination

And why is that?

if white people discriminate against an asian, indian, black, whatever, why call it reverse discrimination while for everyone else it is simply discrimination? it is a weird term when it only applies to whites getting discriminated against.

Folks are bored with bashing Muslims, so it's on to bashing Blacks. VJ sheesh!

Who is bashing blacks?

I do not see any race being bashed here; we are speaking about discrimination although sidelined from the OT.
