Hello everybody,

I am waiting for an H1B extension and it seems that the process is being delayed, exceeding the 2 months waiting period the USCIS indicates on its website. They began with the Initial review on June, 14th and that is all the info I have received. According to my university lawyer, there are other professors in the same situation I am, waiting for more than 3 months... (she should have told me this before and filed my case earlier.... but what could I do? :( )

Any recent experience on H1B renewal? How long did you wait for its approval?

My only concern is that I cannot renew my driver's license, which is already expired, until I receive the approval notice (I am in Indiana and they told me there is other license extension option).

Thanks!

Just an update if you read the post... I had to Premium Process my application because I did not heard nothing of it before, and it's been 4 months! Finally, after sending the request last week, I saw a movement in my case yesterday. I will probably have a decision by next week. It looks that they will just do it for the extra $ 1,000. :(

For those who have been reading the post, I have received today, October 22 the approval to my H1-B extension. After Premium Processing, it just took 1 week to have everything done! So if you are experiencing delays as I was, consider PP as the fastest and easiest way to accelerate the application approval.
