I'm in the same situation myself. I left my husband for 2 years for all the right reasons. I recently filed a divorce. I entered the marriage good faith and I have documents to support that. I am left with nothing- no house, no job, and with very little money in my bank account. But at least now I have some peace of mind every time I wake up in the morning.

My lawyer used 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the divorce. Although, we both know why...despite of him still claiming how good he was to me. That I only used him to get my green card. Despite of all my friends think how bad I am for leaving the guy who took me here in the US. I decided not to ask for anything but for my car- he wants me to pay for it. I just want to get out of my miserable marriage. I'm not sure whether he will contest the divorce or not.

Anyway, good luck to us.

P.S. in Part 2 of I-751 form choose d: I entered into marriage in good faith...

I am going thru divoce myself and my husband went out of his way so I don't get my papers accusing me that I was with him just for the papers. I talk to couple of attorneys and they say that as long as can prove the judge that it was a good faith marriage it should be ok. I think they have a time minimun of 2 years that you have to be marry in order for you to file by yourself. I have a very similar situation to yours, we bought a house about 2 years ago and now he want me out and we want to move on...don't be scare of anything if in fact it was a good faith marriage there is nothing to worry about. How long were you married before he filed? Keep writing about your case. Good luck
