I'm living here with my kid and my husband. The problem is that her father is real lazy with paying child support. While we were living in my home country this was not a problem because the authorities there collected it from him and then paid it tome. But now when I'm not a resident there any longer, I cannot any help from the authorities. Are there any authorities here in US who could possibly help me with this? My husband has too many expenses already so that money would help a lot, it's not much but to us it matters. To get an attorney to do anything would be too expensive, propably we would end up with paying more than we would be getting with the child support.

If the father is resident in the US, yes. If not, no.

I am not sure if it would work but maybe you could contact the Support Enforcement in your area...Here in Washington State it is linked to the welfare or DSHS (Department of Social Health Services)...Maybe they can give you answers on how to work with the authorities in your home country...

Here in my state it is the Office of the Attonrney General child support enforcement division. You can google child support enforcement and your states name and it should give you some links. You can also go to the local family court and ask their child support division what the process is. Best of Luck!
