just wanna ask what is the procedure if the child had a primary complex before? My 8 years old nephew had it when he was 4 years old and am worrying if this would cause a problem when he have his medical? I plan to take him tomorrow for tuberculin tests with her sister just to be sure that he is fine. Does he still need a clearance from his pedia that he was treated from his primary complex?

Also her mom had a tuberculosis 8 years ago, is there a possibility that my brother had it too, though his xray last april was negative/clear.

hi lyn pretty sure he will be positive then because he had a history( be honest it wont affect ur application its for the goodness of ur nephew) tell it right away to

the panel physician during the vaccination interview and bring all the prescription of the dr that shows the medicine that ur nephew took when he had that but if u dont have make sure u still remember the medicine atleast u can tell right away that ur son was treated already from the past history. so that they will have the idea and be on the chest xray right away because if u let ur nephew had the tst (tubercullin skin test)its gonna hurt him little bit. (just to avoid having trauma from the needle because at the end of ur medical if everything will be normal he will receive so much of the required vaccination). and after 48hrs u have to wait for the result of the tst. well atleast if the dr. know that he got primary complex he will go staright to the xray and have his xray done. primary complex is just somewhat the same thing as tuberculosis for an adult and it also leaves mark on the chest and can be seen on xray result . if its positive then they will do a sputum test if its still active thats the time they will let ur son to have his medication for 6mos. again.hope it will help u little idea. i got this according to some applicant i talked with during our medical at st. lukes while waiting for our name to be called thanks god that my children are free from that but they got an exposure ( positive to tst)but they are negative to xray and GOd is good they had their vaccination the following day.

its a good idea too if u plan to bring a certification from his pediatrician stating that he was already treated it will help but kindly state all the medicine and months that covers during medication.and u can bring the xray result if u have that any proof that shows that he is already treated from past history may help.GODBLESS AND GOODMORNING TOO. :D

i guess tst or what so called tubercullin test is a procedure done for younger than 15 yrs of age .over 15 yrs old should undergo for chest xray they are just avoiding minors to be expose on radiation thats why they just simply use a tst but if an applicant is positive to tst thats the time they need an xray in order to do some management.goodluck and have a blessed evening :D
