Hello Everyone,

I really need as much helpful input as possible.

I am married to a US Citizen and I now have a 10-year PR card. The marriage isn't going well. He is very abusive and I am afraid of him when he gets angry. We have a 2 year-old-son.

He filed for my daughter a couple of years ago. They are asking for his paystubs, a letter from his employer, and our tax papers. It's been over a year and he has not submitted them. I don't have access to our tax documents as he locks everything away from me. He used to threaten me with divorce but now that I have a PR card, he threatens to not follow through with the rest of the paperwork for her.

Is there anything I can do? Will I have to start the process all over again. Now that she is 18, does it make it harder?

I miss her terribly and it breaks my heart to know that she is growing up without me.

This is being written for me by a friend because I am not very internet savvy.

Thank you.

Even if you miss her terribly are you in the type of living situation you want to bring your daughter into . You are miserable from what you wrote and yet you are staying with him. You need to be in a place that is healthy for your daughter to live in. Where you are you are being mentally abused , and you owe it to your daughter to not place her under those conditions. You can file for her yourself. But first take care of yourself.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Wassup "Yardie" Dont settle for Less... move on if it not working and move out!! NOt worth sitting around and taking Verval OR Physical Abuse for what..? What's Just So Good..?

Since you dont know where to find his documents to fulfil the paperwrk then I would recommend that YOU do it your self. She's 18 now and you have untill 21 for for her to get the benifit While you're in your current Immigration Status. Currently it is going to take about 1 year and maybe 4 months for the paper work to be completed. The good things is that The Visa Office is current to March 2010. You'll need $355.00 to submit the paper work... .But heck dont let him hold "completing" the docs for your daughter... Go do it your self please. Oh yeah.... you can put in the paper work now and by the time your daughter gets here.. life for you would be so much better -
