We have a similar issue - is there a chance for the case to get denied at any stage on the grounds of the Petitioner possibly being not able to take financial care of the Beneficiary in the future (health issue - major surgery)? Best wishes for the rest of it!

Hi, we are just wondering if anyone knows whether there is a chance for the case to get denied at the NVC or a Consulate stages on the grounds of the Petitioner possibly not being not able to take financial care of the Beneficiary in the future (health issue - major surgery)? Best wishes for the rest of it!

Two posts split from two other topics ("Need Help - wife is ill" and "Letter for expedition" threads) and merged here as its own topic to avoid confusion in trying to answer two separate topics on one thread.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

In other words...does NVC try to imagine something that could happen in the future and deny based on that? No. Expenses are not taken into consideration at all. If you have enough INCOME you qualify. It does not matter if your expenses are higher than your income, they do not ask about your expenses, they do not care. Why?

Because they do not care about you or your future spouse. They only care that they have a means to collect their money back if your sponsored spouse goes on welfare. Since they are the government, they get in line first. They will confiscate what they want and do not care if you live in a refrigerator box. If they had even the slightest care about you they would ask for a statement of income and expenses and do a credit check. They do not.

If your income and/or assets are sufficient, you will not be denied for lack of being able to support. They will not ask about surgery.

People have been asked for details of Medical Insurance, it would be a good idea to have than on hand.

Hi Gary and Alla, Thank you for the respond. Some time ago we realized that Alan might need the operation on his back, and we were thinking of expediting our case on this basis, in order for me to be with him after the surgery... He is supposed to spend several weeks in the bed after that, not being able to work or take care of himself, so he would definitely need someone to be with him 24/7. And sure, as his wife I am certain it is my responsibility!!! Well, we just decided better not to expedite the case for the reason of possibly being denied (if someone thinks that my husband needing help would meen me becoming a public charge...). That's basically why I am asking this question - I might just be unreasonable or too suspicious... Or, step-by-step, I might be getting paranoic with this process... Well, hopefully I am not!
