It's weird that initially i was asked to pay like Dhs 3,700 but then the guy called me back and goes sorry there is mistake just pay Dhs 1800/- so i guess they have taken fee for petition only.

I guess the embassy was short of staff as my appointment was just before Eid holiday, even visa officer said that we will contact you after Eid holidays in 10 to 15 days

Tried calling IV dept yesterday but they never answered so i have e-mailed them to check the status... lets see..

I also believe your situation was a once off case.. They charged me the 3500+ just as they first asked you.

Don't bother calling them, their email response is usually good :)

Good luck!

I think they have changed the procedure (at least in my case) by doing the FBI check first then interview and submission of other documents.

I have received below reply for the IV department.

Thank you for your email. Please be advised that your case is still pending admin processing, once the review has been completed, our Embassy will contact you for a second interview.

Thank you,

HI I was wondering did you and your wife use assets only in the affidavit of support? We live in and I work in Saudi and we have more than enough assets (cash actually) to meet the 3x requirement - is anything else needed or should we get a co-sponsor anyway?

i don't get it.

Hi, I mentioned my assets but as I remember the officer skimmed through those really quickly and she actually returned to us the copies of bank statements and bonds etc, which I assume means they won't even consider them.

We had a joint sponsor who exceeds the requirement and I'm assuming that's what worked in our case.

But please do some search on filing with assets and post in other threads so that the experts can help you out.

Hey Guys,

My wife is U.S citizen. I recently had my interview at Abu Dhabi embassy & my case has been put in Administrative Processing.

I am desperate to know what are the most recent timeframes they (U.S embassy in Abu Dhabi) are taking to complete administrative processing for spouse immigration visa? I noticed from a couple of threads that the processing time in Abu Dhabi is fairly quick (around 1 month).

Any comments will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

In our case the visa was late cause we didn't wanna travel soon, but for other cases I've heard around 1 month sounds reasonable..
