Well I couldn't post anything yesterday because my computer at work was being stupid. So here I am today! It's been a good morning so far. I actually got to wake-up at the same time as my husband. I made him take me to work. Last night we sat down and made second copies of all the stuff we are sending for his AOS. But I still didn't recieve my tax info. He wants to send it now so at least they know he is applying for AOS. He's been out of F-1 status for 2 weeks now and is scared Immigration is going to come busting in our house and take him away. I admit I am scared too. I go to sleep thinking about waking up and having guns pointed at me and my husband. Random people in my house who are uninvited. I just don't like it! So he wants to send it unfinished. I know it will get sent back, but what else can we do? We don't have enough money for a lawyer and the IRS is taking it's sweet time with my damn paperwork! Anyone else go through something like this?

Besides all that stuff, I'm hoping for a good week. Especially a good sunny weekend so we can go to the PA Renn Faire. The only down fall of today is that one of my tonsils(at least I think it's my tonsil) is inflamed and is killing me everytime I swallow! I think I am going to go see the doctor about it. Hopefully it's nothing ot worry about. Anyway, I guess I better do something productive at work. Hope everyone has a good day!

Do not send it unfinished!!

A two day overstay is just as bad as a 2 week overstay which is just as bad as a 1 month overstay. Just don't let the MONTHS pile on...

But what if the immigration comes and gets him and takes him to jail. We can't risk that!

This question IMHO would be better directed to the AOS forum. I highly doubt that immigration will just come and arrest him. I am under the assumption that INS doesn't come and pick people up for overstays. However I do know they do pick people up when they are ordered deported or have removal orders, or if they refuse to leave on voluntary departure. (or if they entered the country illegally in the first place - hopping borders).

Many people from the VWP countries come and overstay, as do people on visitor visas and student visas, and the only problem they usually encounter is the high level of doubt the AOS interviewer has. The AOS interviewer usually raise an eyebrow to people that have overstayed, or are almost having an overstay because they think the marriage happend just for the purposes of not being deported.

Wish you good luck

Hey everyone...**YAWN**

Bleh...Wednesday. I think I am starting to feel all the days blend together and they now all feel so bleh to me. Still waiting over here, no call from the embassy. I don't think it will matter anyway. My hunny and I discussed it and he doesnt want to come until after the Christmas holidays. So it really won't make much of a difference if it gets moved up. Angie, you can have my spot :P

Other than that, nothing new at all. Congrats Sarah & Hicham!!!! You are gettin hitched!!!! Woo hoo!!! I hope you find your dream wedding cake to celebrate and if not you can always make that garlic frosting one.

With all this wedding talk, I think that when my hunny does finally get here that we will just take a trip to Vegas and get hitched there

Said and I will probably have a low key ceremony. A friend of mine is a registered minister and can marry us legally. After that, I think I just want a big "WELCOME TO AMERICA, MEET MY FRIENDS & FAMILY, WE JUST GOT HITCHED" party :D I think I'll look into the arboretum here.. it's really lovely and overlooks a lake. If it's not too cold (we're in Louisiana - does it ever get too cold?) cuz it's mostly outside. Otherwise, I dunno - maybe the restaurant where we met, where I dance... that would be kinda neat - maybe (maybe not?). Ok, so this is silly, but if Said gets here b4 year's end and we can marry b4 Dec 31, it would be great for my 2006 taxes ;) .

We'll see, no plans yet... waiting, waiting...

So noura... *trying not to slosh her can of soda*... how are you holding up so far? :hehe:

You know... I would love to develop the temporary lobotomy cap for those times during this process when my mind is making me insane. Just plop it in your head, flip a switch, the little propeller on top spins and whirs... you get a sudden blank look on your face, maybe drool just a little, then a peaceful smiles settles in. I suppose you could set it on a timer to shut itself off once the anxiety attack or obsessing has passed. Included would be a warning: do not use when operating a motor vehicle or heavy equipment.

Anyone want to help me design it?

Hey Jean, I'll help you design it... I could surly use one specially today...

I keep thinking how did this happen...how is it that we're stuck in one place and can't do anything about it... did I do something wrong? Is it just his name or is something really wrong and I don't know about it...

Then the one thought that scares me the most... what if this is not meant to be... then the tears come... :crying:

Sorry to go on like this... I hope you all are having a better day... (F)

Yasi,

I will tell you what Mohammed tells me... The visa is secondary. Your relationship is first. A stamp in a book or not can't break that. Focus on your love and it takes the sting away from the rest.

OK OK I'm going to ask because I've wondered... and too lazy to go look on the AOS forum... If you file for AOS and have the proof to show you did, how can it be considered an overstay if the paperwork is in the works? (And we all know they just don't move that fast anyway.)

That doesnt seem to be her issue right now. His student visa expired two weeks ago and they have not yet sent in AOS.

Ok... but as far as any ole regular aos?

I'm not quite sure what standards they use.

If AOS recieved receipt is a day before the overstay limit... or if they use actual approval date...

I'll try to find out and report the findings.
