Danny & Jodee,

Congratulations to you both. So weird you had the same dates and the same questions!

Anyway, here's hoping Santa brings you a Naturalization Certificate for Christmas this year. What a great gift it would be to never have to deal with immigration again :crying:

Kim C

Congrats Jodee!!! I know, what are the odds of getting the same interview date, and same questions huh? And yes that is the question I was about to post, name three of the 13 original colonies. :) thanks LOL Do they do the same questions daily or do you think it was pure coincidence??? Anyway congrats again and hope you get your oath letter soon. Late christmas shopping?????? I do late christmas shopping, a day before or sometimes the same day LOL I had to say it LOL good luck jodee

Thanks again for all your nice comments!! Yeah I wish I can get a naturalization certificate for christmas, that would be awesome. I have a question to get all of us more involved here. I read somewhere that that person thought there were US citizens A and US citizens B. The A group being the born citizens and B the naturalized citizens, he wrote that they were not the same and naturalized citizens were not equal to born citizens. What do you guys think about this? One arguement he used was that we cannot run for president. Please everybody post to know how you think!!!

I haven't heard of that before that there's Class A and B. Interesting.

But I do know that naturalized citizens cannot run for presidency, and I don't argue with that. I think it is the right thing to do. One loyalty. One allegiance. No strings attached with other country, the original birthplace. Because no matter what we say, our nationality will continue to flow in our blood. You feel bad when something happened to your birth country. You feel ashamed too when they do something stupid. There's a chance that presidential decisions might be affected. We're connected, even not on papers... and even how proud we are to be Americans (to be).

That was said by somebody as a way of speaking. Whatever they try to tell you, a naturalized citizen NEVER will have equal rights to a natural born citizen. The fact that you can't run for President is one argument. A very important one though. Natural born citizens never can lose their citizenship. Naturalized citizens still can lose it. Not very easy but it can happen.

I agree with CVB's answer and R&W is completely correct. I am a naturalized US citizen, but I have very strong emotional ties to the land of my birth, Jamaica. I am happy that at least I could represent the people in Local, State or National politics, but do agree with a natural born citizen running this country. So at least my children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews have an opportunity to be President one day.

Hey everyone,

I am so excited that I just had to share... I have been watching my online case status since early last month and absolutely nothing has changed. I was beginning to get really bummed that nothing would ever happen and so today I spoke with the USCIS Customer Service Center helpline.

Rather than mess around (okay it took me about 2.5hrs to actually get through to a live person since I am calling from China), I asked to be transferred to a tier 2 level supervisor and here is what he told me:

Sept 3 - Application received inc fingerprint cards

Sept 20 - Check cashed and application entered into system

Sept 21 - I797c sent out as official receipt

Nov 4 - Online system updated to reflect the I797 dated Sept 21 (only 6 weeks after)

Nov 24 - Background Check cleared - YEAY!

Nov 25 - File updated confirming our request for interview in Fairfax

Nov 26 - Fairfax Office, requested file to be sent to them

He then said I should receive a letter with an interview date sometime in the next 60 days!!!! Of course, who knows if that will happen, but I am just so happy to know that things have been happening even though my online status has never changed. Just goes to show the online status is not up to date. So for those of you still waiting with me, keep the faith our turn is coming soon.

I don't think I can add any new info to the database, but I am copying the latest one below as a form of celebration.

BTW - the 2nd tier supervisor man was REALLY helpful and polite. I think it was the best interaction I have had with USCIS in all of the 7 years I have been dealing with them.

That's great news!

I spoke to second tier a couple of days ago and they were very nice. I was told I should receive an interview notice 90 days from biometrics so now I have about 60 days left... good luck to you!
