You need to follow Jim's advice. The instructions from the USCIS WEBSITE say you must send an original letter. :)

Mailed K-1 on 2-6-10

USCIS received packet on 2-8-10

NOA 1: Received 2-16-10

NOA 2: Approved 4-29-10 (72 Days)

NVC Forwarded Petition to London- 5-6-10

NVC Letter Received: 5-7-1010

London Received Packet: 5-14-10

London Mailed Packet to Rob: 5-18-10

Packet 3 Received by Rob: 5-22-2010

Packet 3 paperwork mailed to Rob 6-12-10

Medical- July 8, 2010

Everything mailed to Embassy 7-19-10

Interview Date: 9-14-10- Approved pending non-machine washed replacement passport.

Entry to US- 10-6-10 POE- Newark

Wedding- 10-23-10

AOS

Mailed AOS paperwork to the Chicago lockbox 1-7-11

Delivery Notification 1-10-11

Text stating application was received 1-20-11

Thanks all for the responses thus far. Can I add a quick alternate question...

Does it make a difference how long ago the document were signed by your fience(e)? For instance if he filled out his G325A two months ago, but we still haven't filed, will it make a difference?

My friend did not send in a letter of intent from his fiance and his was still approved. Suprisingly.

November 2009- Met online

May 13,2010- Visited in Cebu, Philippines

July 01, 2010 I-129f mailed to Cali

July 06,2010- USCIS confirmed delivery

July 12,2010- NOA-1

July 21,2010- file touched

Nov. 19,2010- NOA2 Approved!!!!

Nov. 24, 2010- NVC received

Nov. 30,2010- Hardcopy recieved in mail

Nov. 30, 2010-case number received from NVC via phone

case forwarded to Manilla

Dec. 06, 2010- paid Visa fee at BPI

Dec. 07,2010-Embassy recieved

Dec. 28, 2010- Appt. finally scheduled

Jan. 11,2011- Medical exam

Jan. 18,2011- Interview APPROVED!!!

Jan. 19,2011- Visa printed

Jan. 22, 2011- Visa delivered

Jan. 30, 2011- Guam

What I did for my fiance (husband now) is type up the letter for him and scan it. He signed it, scanned it and sent it back. Or, you can type it and mail it to him have him sign it and then date it when you get it back. You have to be careful with the G-325 form because you need to have the most current edition when sending your paperwork in. I agree with Thompson2 about coming over to the yardie forum. Great help there!

OK - I guess my random answer would be -

what? impossible to get foreign fiancee to handwrite something, sign it, then send it to you, even via international postal mail (slow boat version) ??? pardon? I'm lost, I guess.

We used an approach similar to this. We review the letter content while on a phone call. Then I emailed the document to Olga. She printed the letter, signed it, and sent it to me via snail mail. The letter took two weeks to arrive, but that was OK, because I was assembling other documents to front load the I-129F petition.

My goal was to have a complete petition, to reduce the potential for processing issues.
