I'd be more concerned about the radiation. Can't blame carbon emmisions on this one should the ozone get wiped out.

I have a UK passport so I would just go there

No sunlight has ever reached the ground so the Ozone is just before the P zone as far as I concerned

The UK visa waiver equivalent programme would be scrapped immediately

but i am stocked up on food, guns and ammo for when things go haywire.

So you have a 4-10 year supply and the means to secure it?

The scary thing isn't that the power grid will go out. It's what people will do when the power stays out. Without it, what are they going to do?

A one week outage causes HUGE problems in most urban areas. Can you even imagine a month or a year? How about 4-10 years? Where are all those people going to go? What are they going to do? And for those of us how have made "some" preparations, how are we possibly going to keep them safe for that long?

The sad fact is people in the US are doing GREAT if they have a 72-hour supply of food and water. They're doing AWESOME if they have a month or two. But, how can they possibly protect anything more from the literally MILLIONS of hungry zombies that will be hungry?

The radiation isn't the same radiation that kills people. It's probably not even going to effect the ozone either. It's more of an EMP than a blast.

It would take a long time to get there in a kayak.

So, do you have a good water supply?

Keep in mind, the tap water will be no good once the power goes out.

So, what are the chances the earth will actually get hit by a CME of that size?

The "experts" tend to agree chances are pretty good and it's not a question of "if" it's a question of "when?"
