*Moving from K1 forum to Philippines Regional forum as question is specific to Manila embassy*

From what I recall the cases where a co-sponsor was accepted at Manila had a close relative of the petitioner as cosponsor.

No you're allowed a co-sponsor, at least most consulates allow it. Which country is the beneficiary from?

Most consulates will accept a co-sponsor. Some will only accept a co-sponsor under certain circumstances. Some will almost never accept a co-sponsor. It depends on whether the consulate is in a country with a high level of immigration fraud, and whether a petitioner with low income might be indicative of a particular type of visa scam.

Your profile says your consulate is in Armenia. Since that's the first consulate on the list, I'm guessing that's not really your country. We can give a more precise answer if you tell us which country we're talking about.

Yes, the OP is going through Manila in the Philippines. As this is a country specific topic - and I understand Manila does do things differently than other Consulates - I am moving this thread to the Philippines Regional forum and merging it with a previous thread started by the same OP that is already there.

Prot - please do not repost your topic again but continue to post in this same one even though it is not in the K-1 forum. While the question is by a K-1 applicant, it is about a process unique to the Philippines so is best addressed in that Forum. We want you to get the best information you can and you will find it for this question in the Philippines Regional Forum.

I apologize guys for the re-post of my topic.. I am the beneficiary and I'm from the Philippines...

Thank you so Much for the Info..I hope and Pray that the consul who will conduct my interview would allow a co-sponsor. I am so much worried now because we have a 1 year old son and what if they don't accept co-sponsor because they'll gonna think that we may be a public charge in the US then.. :( :( :(

If you use the search function you'll find this discussed in great length here in the PH Regional Forum.

The consensus is that if the Petitioner is currently a college student or a recent graduate then a Co-Sponsor is not a problem as they recognize that the petitioner should have better earning potential in the near future.

There have been cases that didn't meet this approved with a co-sponsor but these are few & far in between.

My mother co-sponsored my Nephew. So it was him getting his Great Grandmother to Co-Sponsor and there Visa was approved.

A acquaintance of mine used his brother as a co-sponsor. His fiancée received her visa from USEM last month.

He is in his mid-twenties and is not a student nor a college graduate.

Good luck on your visa journey! :star:
