Hello!

I have just received an e-mail with the Choice of Agent and Address Form, and have some questions:

1.Would it be possible to have my choice of agent and address located in the United States even though I live in Colombia and therefore I wouldn't be able to sign the forms?

2.Could my agent of choice sign them on my behalf?

3.If not could I send my agent of choice a scanned copy of the signature page of the forms that require my signature or something like that?

Thanx a lot for your help!

Is this for a K1 visa? Because your profile says FB-4 visa.

I don't understand why you can't sign the forms when all you need to do is have them mailed to you. Are you the US citizen?

Moved from K-1 visa forum to Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America forum as OP is applying as a brother/sister of a US citizen, not as a fiancee

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I am the beneficiary. Mail service in Colombia can be unreliable sometimes.

Hello!

Thanx a lot for your help!

You are the beneficiary, living in Columbia. Assume the petitioner lives in USA, yes?

1. usually, the choice of agent falls to a USCitizen, residing in USA.

2. No

3. No.

Signatures must be original. If you have any issues for sending things in, then you absolutely must overcome it. Scans, photocopies, faxes, are not acceptable, it 'misses' the definition of an 'original signature'

If you feel is impossible for you to handle the DS-3032 via postal/courier delivery, then forego any 'signature form', utilize the 'DS-3032 email template' over at http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form and note this is not 'an emailed form' - you are emailing, instead, the ascii text form data into NVC.

You absolutely need to complete and sign the DS-230 - see http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html for a list of civil documents that you'll need to generate, as well.

Ultimately, in the end, you must be able to receive a 'packet 4' to yer local address. If you are having 'local address problems', then it's up to you to find an alternative address in Columbia, where you can receive 'regular postal mail' , and make this address 'known' on the DS-230 form.

SENDING things out to NVC can be straightforward for you, if you show up, in person, at a large postal office or large courier office, pay the shipping fees, complete shipping forms THERE.

Have you checked in with the original petitioner? Things have changed much, at NVC, since the I-130 was originally filed - USUALLY, these days, the USCitizen Petitioner 'drives all' into NVC, utilizing the LingChe shortcuts found here on the wiki pages.

Let us know what you decide to do, how to handle all, later, yes?

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

WOW Darnell, thats great info! I really appreciate it! I found out that there is FedEx service here in Colombia, so I'll use their service to send my documents. And yes, mi petitioner lives in USA so he will be my agent of choice. I assumed that since all the forms I need to fill are on the internet, I can save some time by downloading, printing and signing all the Form's pages that need to be signed by me and then sending them all in one pakage to my agent, and have him fill the rest.

Oh, and I will absolutely check the LingChe shortcuts!

Thank you very much!
